How great and underrated is this Michael Mann gem? The music and visuals are unforgettable!

It's Michael Mann's best, IMO.

A brilliant performance from the ever great Lewis, Stowe is good and the visuals are breathtaking and simply tell this amazing story to the unrelentingly powerful music.

A masterpiece. And this man gave us Heat, The Insider and Collateral, but this is still easily his best movie.

Have you guy seen the Michael mann directed Nike commercial? It is awesome and uses the music from the bettle scene at the end of the film.

It's one of the best films made. Daniel Day Lewis was fantastic...you'd think he had been using a flintlock all of his life. The music is great....I have the soundtrack and listen to it regularily.

The fight at the end on the mountain is simply awesome.

Haven't seen it in years, remember very little.

I *do* remember an article in EW talking about how Daniel Day Lewis went alone to location 2 weeks prior to filming, and the only thing he took with him was a knife, so he could live off the land and get into character.

Dude is hardcore.

One of my college professor used that story to try and make us dedicated, lol.

Visually it's great, and the acting is good. But it changed too much from the book.

It does show that Mann, visually, is an amazing director, he knows how to tell a story to the eyes. Heat shows him in true form though, such a great movie.

Great film. "Always in his heart, he is Huron." I don't know why, but I loved the delivery of that line. Magua > Darth Maul

I read the book some thirty or so years ago....from what I remember, it was quite a laborious book....so I'm not upset over changes.

It was just odd changes, the main character completely changes and the women fall in love with the wrong men.

Magua is crazy awesome in that film. It was good to see that actor pop up in Heat as well.
