Hey guys, my friend and I were talking, and he mentioned something of a batman lego vid-game. Is there really one happening? And were things such as other heroes appearing mentioned?

Wouldn't suprise me. The Lego Star Wars games are successful. If it is true I would expect all the characters there are Lego's of in the game including Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman, etc.

There really is one in the works. And there wasn't a mentioning of other heroes making an appearance in the game.

That sounds cool! The Starwars ones are fun.

After Batman, they should make Superman legos.

lego is great...wish there were all those variations when i were a kid..
bit too old to be buying lego at 27 :(

The game was announced to be in production by Travellers Tales. The same creators of the Lego Star Wars video game series.

The game was just announced to be developed. So no, there weren't any specifics of who the villains might be, or which will be making appearances. There was though, a fond mentioning of villains. And how the Batmobile will also be featured to race through the streets.

I can't wait for this.

And I think Adam West's voice would do nicely.

Batman Lego AWESOME!...yah think Superman will be made into lego?

LEGO Batman: The Videogame is Coming!
Source: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment March 26, 2007

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games will bring LEGO Batman: The Videogame to next-generation and current generation platforms and the PC in 2008 with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment serving as the game's North American publisher, including all sales and distribution functions.

In LEGO Batman: The Videogame, TT Games brings the world of DC Comics' Caped Crusader to life in an entirely new way. Players can explore a richly interactive LEGO Gotham City as Batman and Robin, capturing infamous villains - and even take control of the villains themselves.

"Batman spans several generations as one of the most popular DC Super Heroes, and 'LEGO Batman' will appeal to several generations of gamers who grew up idolizing the Dark Knight and playing with LEGO toys," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "Working with TT Games, we are confident they will continue their LEGO games' success with this title, and we will expand our publishing endeavors with the introduction of the 'LEGO Batman' franchise."

"We're sure our fans will be excited to know that we have the same fantastic team at Traveller's Tales responsible for 'LEGO Star Wars' and 'LEGO Star Wars II' working on 'LEGO Batman,'" said Tom Stone, Director of TT Games Publishing.

"There's a special magic to the LEGO incarnation of Batman that makes him accessible to a younger generation of his fans," said Paul Levitz, President, DC Comics. "We look forward to the videogame version extending this fantasy."

The LEGO Batman: The Videogame story unfolds with Batman's greatest foes escaping from Arkham Asylum and creating mayhem throughout Gotham City. Tracking criminals, including The Joker and The Penguin, players will utilize Batman's gadgets as well as build and operate fantastic vehicles in one or two player cooperative gameplay.

Videogame players will have another title to place beside their copies of Lego STar Wars games. According to Variety, Warner Bros. has signed to produce a Lego Batman videogame, to be developed by TT Games, which also developed Lego Star Wars.

According to the trade, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will fully finance and publish the game itself, as well as handle all distribution in North America.

The game will follow the Lego Star Wars model, that is, all the characters and sets will be constructed of Lego pieces. More than likely, the games will follow in the successful footsteps of the two Lego Star Wars installments, which have sold several millions of copies, not only to the younger set, but also to adult gamers, due to the games’ charm, gameplay, and sense of humor.

A 2008 release is planned, more than likely in time with the release of The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins, which is due out on July 18, 2008.

Lego currently has a license to produce Batman toys and playsets made from Legos, and is on its second wave of figures and sets.

Yeah if they time it to release with TDK that probably means no TDK game. Which may not be such a bad thing, since the Begins game was meh.

They will release a TDK game. The Episode III game and Lego Star Wars came out around the same time.

It's hilarious (and sad) that the best Batman game ever will probably end up being a Lego one (no offense to Lego, the Star Wars ones are awesome).

Hopefully, it'll have as wide a collection of playable characters as the Star Wars ones. The possibilities are endless. Every villain, every ally, every costume incarnation...

Best thing that could happen to Batman, at this point.
