TLW.

JP3 is too short, moves way too quickly and lacks any charm.

While there are some bad moments and parts of TLW, I still really enjoy the film. I even dig the San Diego stuff at the end.

The Lost World, definitely. I'll never understand all the hate for it. The main attraction for these movies are the dinosaurs, and I feel like TLW delivered on that in a big way. It's still a fun movie.

Dunno, on one hand, they both have terribly written characters, with the exception of the lead, returning to an island (or, in Grant's case, another island with the same premise), the characters are complete and total morons, plot holes aplenty....but on the other hand, JP3 didn't completely ruin a great book in favor of Vince Vaughn basically screwing over every character....but TLW also had a theme, whereas JP3 was a monster movie...which is against the whole point of the first two...but the finale isn't as stupid and disappointing as TLW...

Jesus, let's just say JP is amazing and the other two are both as good/bad/mediocre/what have you as the other.

The Lost World by a million miles.

I don't hate JP3 by any means, but I like the Lost World better.

I don't really like either of them but the T Rex trailer scene in TLW is amazing.

Edit: I love this shot:

The Lost World. I can't remember anything from JP3, except the talking dinosaur and MacGyver junior.

The Lost World for Roland Tembo, my favorite character in the franchise. Jurassic Park III for the aviary sequence.

While at least I am not the only one that likes 3 better then lost world lol. Jurassic park 1 is the best easily and I hope that Jurassic world can regain the magic of 1 but I found Jurassic park 3 to be good but 2 short and Jurassic park lost world I found to be pretty boring so I like 3 more.

Jurassic Park III. It’s nowhere near the original classic but it is still a fun and entertaining movie. While I can’t say I hate The Lost World, I can’t really say I love it either. It’s just a middle of the road sequel in my eyes. Either way, I’d rather watch either film over Jurassic World. On another subject, can we all agree that the Jurassic sequels are still miles better than Neverending Story III?

I think the majority of movie sequels are better than Neverending Story III. :hehe:

Although, Jack Black is a saving grace in that movie.

I would say TLW has higher highs than JP3 and the first 2/3 of that are probably the closest we ever got to the levels of the original. However TLW really goes off a cliff once they leave the island for me and JP3 is more consistent throughout. Also JP3 is only about 90 minutes, so an easier viewing.

I used to hate that T-Rex San Diego sequence back in the day. But now 6 movies in, it’s the only one to have a dinosaur wrecking havoc in the city and I fully approve.

And this might be the most 1980s Amblin Spielberg sequence of all time. A T-Rex in suburbia.

Haven’t we all imagined as kids what would happen if a T-Rex head popped up by our window in the middle of the night lol.

The Lost World. Spielberg, Williams, Koepp, Goldblum, San Diego T Rex sequence.
And if I may add...

I remember reading the junior novel before I saw the movie and it ended when Ian and his group left the island. No captured Rex, no San Diego, so that part of the movie was a fun surprise for me in the theater. The only part that I really roll my eyes at is seeing the severed hand in the cabin but from what I understand the reason for that was because there were supposed to be raptors on the ship before that idea was scrapped. It's a funny little gag but it makes no sense in the context of the movie.
