Today is my 19th wedding anniversary. :hrt:

Happy anniversary. Be stingy though. Say you're saving the flowers, and nice dinner for the 20th anniversary. Then hand her an IOU.

JK, obviously, congrats.

So apparently we are getting a hurricane. I live in one of the evac zones. Great.

Stay safe and good luck.

I'm on the west side of NC so Im not in an evac zone but Florence is making me nervous nonetheless. Now they're saying it could be a category 5 when it makes landfall.

Must be tough living somewhere where you’re regularly at risk of devastating weather like this. :(

Good luck to everyone who has to face this.

Just finished Iron Fist season two... Messy doesn't begin to describe it. But... Damnit just like Defenders, which I also found lackluster they still managed to end it out where I wanna see where the next story goes, and THIS time they started, or ended with including the Immortal Iron Fist material.

Still... A very confused and unfocused season that each episode made me go, "Why am I watching this?" and that's just not good for a series to be doing to it's viewers.

Better than season 1?

Better than season 1?

Sure. It's better all around than season one just by virtue of not spending five episodes stretching out what Batman Begins did in ten minutes (Company scion comes back after being thought lost etc.) but now the issue is after putting the viewer through that... They never even bring up his place in the company or do anything with him being this billionaire other than it's in his background. I don't want to get into any more because, ya'know... SPOILERS, but it being better than the first season doesn't mean it's great or even good in my eyes.

Stay safe and please look after your animals everyone in the hurricane <3

When is the proper etiquette when discussing spoilers for Netflix shows. Usually I wait almost a week to talk about it, but with Netflix shows that rule of thumb doesn't seem to apply.

I'm still so woefully behind on the MNU (Marvel Netflix Universe) yet somehow have managed to avoid spoilers for everything so far.

And I just now saw that Florence is nearing Cat 5 status. Hopefully it lessens up as it nears landfall.

A month?

Wish I could be spoiler free but that part of being a mod can suck

I'm still trying to finish Ozark before I start on Iron Fist. I got derailed by Mr. Mercedes on DVD. :(

mr mercedes is awesome... season 2 is good so far as well

I'll have to wait for the DVD on that as well. I've read all three books though and really enjoyed them.

Watching and recording 9/11 programs all day. Because I like to be depressed. :(

9/11 stuff bugs me... "never forget" why just that day? columbine... boston marathon, pearl harbor, all the **** in the last 10 years.

Bugs me ... isn't the right phrase but i think yall get it. it's turned into a social media thing at this point... look at facebook and tell me you believe half of those people aren't just looking for 'likes'...

It shouldn't be forgotten but as you say, there are a number of other "never forget" moments in US history that are, if not entirely forgotten, mostly neglected. Pearl Harbor at least has an official recognition going for it. Every other major tragedy in the country rarely gets even that.

I guess for me it has an impact because I remember where I was when it happened and watched so much coverage of it. It feels very real to me. I hardly ever watched much news before that. :(

Same here. No other event has etched into my memory exactly where I was and what I was doing... :(

I do recall the Murrow Federal building. First time for homegrown terrorism for me. :(
