i really want to get back into reading, but ive read so many disappointing books lately. part of me just wants to go back a revisit some of the books i've enjoyed reading over the years.

anyone have any books they'd like to recommend. either books yall enjoy or something you're looking forward to reading?

Jeffery Deaver - The Bone Collector (most of the Lincoln Rhyme books actually)
Lee Child - Killing Floor
Dan Brown - Origin
Stephen Baxter - Time
Arthur C. Clarke - 2010 Odyssey Two
Carl Sagan - Contact
James Swallow - Deadline (a 24 novel)
S M Stirling - Infiltrator/Rising Storm/Future War (Terminator trilogy)

I have to second the Bone Collector series. I've read three so far and enjoyed all of them.
If you like a bit of humor Andy Wier's the Martian was better than the movie. :)

My beloved Patriots are not playing well today at all. :(

How difficult is it to just say you want Superman to remain the way he has always been?

No need to bring up sjw/pc agendas or call any possible casting suggestions a stunt. Goddamn.

I want them to be faithful to the comicbook source. That is all you gotta say. I get it. It shouldn't be that hard. Oh, but MBJ can't possibly pull off playing a farmer small town type nonsense. He is an ACTOR. A damn fine one at that. You had a guy in DJ COtrona cast as the character a few years back, fam. A guy who can't hold a candle to either MBJ or Cavill.

MBJ doesn't have the jawline to play Superman. :o

Jokes aside, hes great in everything I've seen him in.

I saw the bone collector movie. Same “franchise”? I liked the movie enough tomwhere I’d be interested in chekcing it out.

origin is on my list already but now I may have to bump it up. I’ll look up the others.

To say it....not difficult....to say it and not get attacked for daring to say it....very difficult indeed.

I'm really late to the party but I watched Logan Lucky yesterday and I'm happy I did. It's very quirky but ultimately quite sweet and a cracker jack off kilter heist film.

@C. Lee do you remember this Bronson movie from 1977? I haven't seen it in ages.

My mom has owned a Subaru for over five years and for four of those years she thought it was a Swedish brand of car.

She's actually quite smart.

I thought the second season of Iron Fist was supposed to be good. I've watched two episodes and I'm already bored. :(

Climb Every Mountain is the greatest song of all time!

Who is Katie Hopkins?

She was a 'contestent' here in the UK on one of the series of The Apprentice about 7-8 years ago that although not winning became prominent and she garnered that 'fame' to build a media framework for herself on radio, television and the written media in which she had a platform in which to spew her hateful right-wing bile & thought-scape, frequently going way beyond the rational thought of what is believed to be rational discourse. Horrible woman in every possible way.

For example....

Watching the sound of music? The Laendler is one of my favorite classical pieces from. A movie. I’m not sure if that counts as a score or what.

Aka it’s the son Captain and Maria dance in the garden

I'm on a Julie Andrews kick after the new Poppins Trailer came out.

This is probably my favorite scene in the movie. And I love how so much is said, without them saying a word. She doesn’t really look at him much, but he seems like he never takes his eyes off her.

It’s so cute :atp:

I just watched this twice on YouTube before I came back over here and saw you posted it.
I regret not seeing it in theatres now. It was here for like two days earlier this month or last month.

Absolutely. I saw it at the theater when it came out. I burned a copy to DVD from the Encore Western Channel last year. It had a lot of good old western actors in it. After the success of JAWS, many studios made large animal movies over the next few years. I can't really defend the mechanical buffalo (not the best special effect I've ever seen) but the rest of the movie is pretty darn good.
