Oh my god, that's awesome. It's classic 50's/60's Joker. All those death traps were from the Adam West Batman show.

Brave & The Bold is meant as an homage to the old Batman of the 40s-60s, hence the strange character designs. (also trying to appeal to kids while introducing more obscure DC characters WB can possibly turn into profitable franchises. There's already a plastic man movie in the works)

It would be nice to have a Timm/Dini created series taking place in the Nolan world, but we got Batman:TAS and the two Nolan films, so good enough, I guess.

I don't mind the death-traps but can they at least go all the way and have The Joker be a total coward like Romero's version?
I mean, in one episode his grand escape plan was to hide in a building and lock Batman out. After a surfing competition.
They need to channel the best bits of the Romero Joker for this to work. Meaning that Joker should be a pathetic, petty criminal whose schemes are childish and laughable.

I take it that Joker got all of his henchmen when he killed the Chenchen. "Tell your men they work for me now." His followers, the sadists, and mentally ill of gotham who mistakenly look up to Joker "His name is Schiff, Thomas. A former patient at Arkham. The kind of mind the Joker attracts" are probably the ones who will bust Joker out, and probably end up getting killed by him shortly after.

Yes, but the moles who work for the Joker aren't loonies. They're crooked cops, reporters, etc. who are on the take from the mob. They only cooperated with the Joker because they're on Maroni's payroll and he told them to. Now that Maroni's dead the Joker can't count on them anymore.

Also, why does everyone think Joker is going to Arkham? Remember? The Narrows was destroyed in Batman Begins. Arkham's in the Narrows. Arkham's gone, people.

I think when Gordon said that the Narrows was lost he meant the people there couldn't be saved. They're all permanently crazy from the fear toxin. The place is probably inhabitable now.

BTW, what do you guys think happened to Narrows Kid from BB? Is he nuts too from being exposed to the toxin or did he get to an antidote in time?

DCU Animated consists of BTAS and JLU all other shows have been pretty weak imo and that includes the boring as hell Gotham Knight.

IMO this is the best episode of the series so far . I loved this adaptation of The Joker , he basically was a mixture of all the different incarnations of the character .

He did get into the Batcave with the Penguin in the three part Zodiac crimes episode.

I forgot about that one. But The Joker and Penguin only saw the INSIDE of it and began to beat each other up and blaming the other for not paying attention to where the batmobile was going. Funny stuff!

That's amazing, it's a damn near perfect impersonation.
And the voice works with the script too, it doesn't sound unsuitable or misplaced.

That fellow has a rare talent. It's interesting, though, that the third sample sees him combine his excellent Hamill/Joker impersonation with more of the feral nature of Ledger/Joker. It seems the whole business of that Joker's facial mutilation and associated extroversion is unique to that interpretation of the character, and doesn't work so well with more traditional types.

It all shows how great Hamill was, though. His Joker was basically Satan in 1930s New York.

You don't think it worked? I think it's only jarring in the sense that we've never heard Hamill's Joker in a growling state. The untamed, beastly nature is not really something that was a part of this particular interpretation. Every time he went out of control, it begets a high pitched uncontrollable laughter. Not a caged animal in it's rawest form.

I personally think it's a very nice blend of the two takes.

But that's exactly what I mean- in attempting to deliver Ledger' lines with Hamill's voice, the latter ends up blended. It's like some of the lines do really seem to belong to a different character. It's a great piece of mimickery, though.

Gotta love this page. From Joker and Penguin sneakingn into the Bat-Cave with a bunch of goons to "Mark Hamil" in the Dark Knight.

Thats why I liked the scarred Joker so much, he can be really frowning and not look happy atall, but the scars make it look like he is smiling even though he could be very far from happy. Theres just something twisted about that I think.

Have you ever seen Elizabeth Short, who was scarred with a smile on her face? Scary ****.
