The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

A little off topic, but I have E! News on and they are going to play the new trailer to show that "Heath's last performance is no joke" and they mention he has Oscar buzz around him already.

I think he deserves it from what I've seen so far.

Give him a decent tie, the suit from TDKR and I think we'll be in business. Although, to be fair I think that we may get more than we expect in this movie. By the end I do not expect The Joker to look the way he does in the trailers. I think that he'll clean himself up, get a haircut and become a lot more recognisable.

I think the shot that I've seen most similar to the other one that I posted has to be the Empire cover -

- if that's as far as he gets in this film, I'll be fine with that. :o

Alright, i don't know what BOF is talking about then, because they mention another image that's a big spoiler...

7:21 PM TEXAS TIME: FYI: If you are avoiding spoilers, you might want to avoid where you find your TDK news over the next couple of days. Why? Well, a MAJOR spoiler was leaked (a picture) and it's something many will not want to see, trust me.

Okay, so some people have talked about having some of Heath's clips from TDK taken and used for the next batman movie.Someone already did a little bit of this, but I decided to make more of a scene, using quotes we've already heard.

[Batman enters Arkham Asylum to quiz the joker regarding info on some crime syndicate. He enters the cell. We see a person in the shadows, sitting at a table. We can only see his hands as he plays solitare- and they're flesh colored, of course]
BATMAN: Hello, Joker.
JOKER: Well hello, beautiful
BATMAN: I need some information from you regarding the Riddler.
JOKER: You look nervous
BATMAN: I'll get my information, no matter what it takes!
JOKER:Why so serious?
BATMAN: [pounds table] Who is the Riddler?!!
JOKER: I mean, what happened?
BATMAN: He destroys lives just so he can play with riddles!
JOKER:... a freak... like me!
BATMAN: No, no one surpasses you
JOKER: I'm a man of my word
BATMAN: you sick freak. I hope you rot here. [BATMAN turns to leave]
JOKER: [waves from the shadow] Kill the batman.

Well, that wasn't too bad...:joker::joker:

Reminds me of that Family Guy sketch with Dustin Hoffman.

"Bring me Peter Pan!"

Hmm, I don't quite remember that one. Will have to youtube it. I was thinking of the episode of south park where Chef died.

I think I have actually found a good chunk of dialog by combining the lines from the teaser trailer with Trailer 3:

"This city deserves a new class of criminal and I am going to give it to them. You see, I'll show ya, starting tonight people will die...I am a man of my word! AHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!"

*Batman beats the crud out of him*

Am I the only one that just keeps rewatching the trailer and repeating every single word mr j says to try and get that voice down. Originally I never imagined the joker with that voice but now I cant imagine him without it. Just ****ing perfect. I almost don't even want a sequel without Heath. What a goddamn tragedy, losing such a miraculous artist that only would have widened his palette by the end.

Case in point -

And yes if anyone could fill those shoes it would be this man. As long as he tried to get the same voice down and maintained the same character I am all for it. But I do not want a reinterpretation.

I guess I wasn't the only one who was wondering why Joker was frowning in that scene if he was the one who burned the money. If he was doing it merely as an FU to the mob, he would be laughing with joy over it. He wouldn't be pissed off about it.

I was thinking Dent burns it to get at Joker, and ruin the leverage he has over the mob. That would acount for why Mr. J lost his smile at that moment.

Holy crud, that would make sense!

Like in TLH, Dent does some vigilantism before he becomes Two-Face. If Dent burns the money, that would explain why Joker goes after Dent and the people he cares about. Rachel, his house burning down, his face, ect.

I agree, but I also wonder if that would make the part not interesting to Johnny Depp, he wouldn't want to just mimic the role I would think, he's too much into interpreting roles as he would like to do it.

Comment of the day (from my mother)

(talking of the Joker) 'Wow, he's even made up an individual walk, amazing'

yes, she really said that.

So, this may sound odd, but am I the only one who wants to see Heath's Joker laugh. I mean, we've heard it numerous times, and the only close thing is the truck scene from the first trailer, but we have no idea how it will look: thrown back and mouth open like TAS/'89 Joker, close up and wide-eyed like Romero's Joker, or something totally different.

My uncle: "Eh, this guys not gonna do good. Jack nicholson did it the best."
