The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

Very noobish question here ladies and gents, but I've been lurking for a while and there's one aspect here that is really racking my brain a bit.

We've all seen the interrogation room pics...why doesn't GPD wash off Joker's face-paint?

Do we think we'll be seeing a good portion of makeup-less Joker, because that humanization of the villain could either work really well, or (I'm afraid of this) fail miserably.

-Cheers

Everything I've read and seen suggests that the pictures of him in the interrogation room are as close to "no makeup" Joker as we're going to see. Which I think is probably a good thing.

You'd be wrong. We know we see Joker in his real face.

Probably, the interrogation scene will be soon after he has been arrested, and the police haven't had a chance to clean his face. Realistically, that requires some suspension of belief.

Yep.

hmm been thinking about this recently:

Michael Caine said in an interview that the joker only applies his make up once throughout the movie so i detreiates like his sanity as the movie goes on. If this is true, wouldn't his facial hair be noticeable after a while? very nit picky i know but just thought it was a bit of a flaw.
Maybe he means the joker is seen applying the makeup only once in the movie. After all heappears a a nurse and a cop and later faces batman with it on.

Wait... the "I'm a man of my word" line from the alternate trailer is different?

i wodner if teh scene if Bruce holding the mask is after Joker kills Rachael cos he does look pretty upset.

the only 'alternate' line that i wouldnt like is the 'evening ladies & gentleman' from the tv spot, i like the trailer version more.
awesome avvy bunker.

I think Joker says "I'm a man of my word" many times during the movie. It's his signature line like "The Joker has spoken!" from the early Kane comics.

Thanks for posting the comparrison videos, garret.

I prefer the less serious sounding one.

the "where is harvey dent?....i'll settle for his love one!" line is ****ing awesome. my favorite joker line so far.

I loved that, the way he says "loved one" is so creepy :hoboj:
This trailer had some great Joker lines, the "These civilized people, will eat each other" line was also awesome.

I remember early on Nolan said he wanted Batman to be the focus of the movie and not the villains. But I can't help but think Heath's Joker is going to be an absolute scene stealer.

After trailer #2 I promised myself that I wouldn't watch any footage before the actual movie. But that line has really caught my eye. It's from the interrogation scene, right? How's Ledger's delivery??

Just perfect.

That line was better than anything in the last film, as long as we get that particular reading I'll take anything else

Is it the same "You'll see, I'll show ya". Sounds the same but there's less reverb

haha indeed,
I think its the same it just sounds like the music is drowning it out.

Harvey's " The night is darkest just before the dawn..." is also different, I wonder if they're doing this intentionally to throw us off.
