I agree, but I'm disappointed that not all of his henchmen wear masks. You can see some arent wearing anything and some are just wearing pantyhose

It's almost a pity that Batmans suit is stab resistant. Makes it hard to think of ways to hurt him in a one-on-one. But then again, when in a jam, go for the eyes!

I like to think that the Joker's not much of a physical fighter, a physical prescence yes but for other reasons.

If Batman ever starts beating on him it means the Joker's already won...

He never was one (looking back on the comics and the cartoon), saddly he never stood a chance in a physical fight with the bat and I'm glad nolan seems to keep it that way (even though i can't stand the sight of Mista J being beat on, makes me go all "awwwz" on him and wanna tend to those wounds of his :-( ).

Joker was more physically formidable in the Golden Age books (where Nolan is known to have drawn inspiration for his incarnation), before the character became lighter and more jovial. As is stands now, he's not anywhere near a physical challenge for Batman, as not many are. Barring some sort of obvious and definitive advantage, Joker shouldn't be able to stand up to Bats at all in TDK without getting his ass handed to him immediately. We've already seen Bruce as more than capable of thrashing small groups, even consisting of other skilled fighters. Having a 'fair' fight between the two either cuts against what we know of Bruce's training or gives the Joker way too much combat prowess. It's not going to happen.

Thanks Mr J for the info. Yeah, I remember the Joker being more physical in his first appearances, trying to stab Batman with his knife etc, and I'm really happy those two first issues are an important source of inspiration for Mr Nolan.

In the brubaker's first joker's appearance, we see him trying to stab batman, and the bats thinks "he's quite fast". But I think the joker being a true fighter wouldn't work. He can uses knife and punch behind, but not stand a frontal confrontation.

Yeah. Joker is crazy, unpredictable, he has nothing to lose and doesn't care about human life. That's a scary opponent even for the most skilled ninja in the worldt:.
