The Dark Knight The Man Who Laughs: The Joker Thread 2.0

I was just watching that episode, I recently took the time to download the animated series. I had them on DVD but they got stolen =[. I wish they'd bring out another animated series like that. The new one is so 60s its going to get canceled so quick. I'd like to see an animated Joker with the TDK look.

i see a episode of "The Batman" the other day, it had joker as some like hulk thing. it was the stupidest thing ever.

Oh don't even get me started on "The Batman". That one is terrible too, the Joker is like Booker T in makeup. I was actually referring to the Brave and the Bold one which is coming out this fall. The Batman is horrid, I hate just about everything about it. The Brave and the Bold seems to have that campy Adam West in animation feel to it. I just want more of either Animated Series or Gotham Knight stuff.

yea i would like to see a proppa anime style batman series, in the mould of ghost in the shell or summin. i think it was Freakzter who posted some bad ass pictures of joker, they looked like they were screen caps of a anime.

Oh I hate beware the creeper. That *****ebag reporter with the big red like animal scarf thingy and green stripped undies. I hated how he goes from being a regular reporter to being a super strength gymnast.

I like the scene where he gets his um, costume.

"Cash or plastic?"

But yeah, it was a ridiculously wacky episode.

Oh and I also hate that monkey Joker from The Batman. And I hate that weirdo music that plays between transitions. **Weeeee--something** Ugh.

Yeah its supposed to be bats, its horrible. Yeah I wish Warner would listen to the fans sometimes when it comes to their animated shows.

I hate hate hate The Batman's version of The Joker. I mean common toeless shoes?! Monkey-like body? Give me a break.

that show insulted my intelligence...i mean i know its a kids show...but so was TAS and i didnt feel dumber after watching it

and Marilyn Manson is not The Riddler....

The problem is that they were trying to do something new with the character and yet forgot the core of his character. He's not a Rastafarian and I'm pretty sure he likes wearing fancy shoes. And he has a good taste in suits.
What were they thinking?

nothing apparently

and they did switch to him wearing a suit at some point in the show....probably because of the backlash...but he still didnt wears shoes kinda in a "were totally not changing the design because no one liked it" thing

still looks like a freakin idiot

im sorry but that is absolutely terrible. i would love to know what they were smoking when they came up with that idea for the joker... wow.. its just painful.

have you seen the ep where he dresses up like batman? the people who made it must just not give a toss it. just a quick buck

I love the way Heath rearranges his hair after taking off his nurse wig in Two-Face hospital room. Actually, I love everything about his performance. In the pantheon of great cinematic villains he is right up there imo with Bates, Powell, Torrance, Cady, Logan and a few others.

I recall seeing parts of that episode, but I don't remember much about it. Maybe that's a good thing :oldrazz:

How about the one where he, I dont know, makes a double of himself through a computer with tiny robots? And he can grow to an infinite size?

and people complain about the sonar!

That was actually one of the few times you could see it was Heath.

I never saw Heath in that scene. Still looked like the Joker to me. The only time I saw Heath was in the obvious scene - sans make up in the Police uniform.

Nah, it may not be blatant, but it is there.

I have yet to see any scene where I saw Heath, even just for a little bit. Yes, even sans make up in the police officer disguise. It's a brief few seconds, but you could the audience in the theater jump because we all knew it was him [The Joker]. He still had that look in his eyes, and we saw his scar fresh as it is, without the red make up.

The only scene that I could see Heath was when he said "and you are beautiful" to Maggie/Rachel. But right after that it was all Joker.

Watching his videos are like torture...actually, it's worse.

You can't tell me you didn't see a little of his performance in Heath's Joker.

That and the face make up.

I saw Heath in a couple of scenes. The interrogation one, parts of the hospital sequence, and the first scar story with Gamble. I saw it and was like damn it looks like he was having a blast playing the Joker. I only noticed it because I looked.

^Saw none of that, honestly. Thinking about it again, still don't see it.

I just watched the film again and i was thinking, when the jokers abusing Brian Douglas, "LOOK AT ME". it sounds like thats all his pain coming out. I can't really put it into words properly but i sense pain, and anger in his voice like he feels wronged in his life. Also when the ferries don't blow up the look on his face is almost like he's holding back the tears because it shows that no one, even in a corrupt city like Gotham is on on his level.

Very true (but the verge of tears is really pushing it though). Someone else had mention of this, I wish I could find it. It was almost essay like. It may have been in this thread. (sigh) ...so many threads, so many posts, so little time.

can someone tell me what comic this joker quote came from ?

"In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out."

would've been awesome if it were in the movie . i would've loved to see it in the interrogation scene when joker is talking to gordon and the lights are off .
