The Weinstein Company will co-finance and distribute domestically IM Global and Antoine Fuqua’s The Man Who Made It Snow starring Jake Gyllenhaal

Produced by Fuqua Films, IM Global, and Gyllenhaal, the picture is the first film from Fuqua Film’s overall relationship with the leading independent film and TV financing, sales and distribution studio, and will start lensing later this year.

Snow is a biopic of notorious 80’s cocaine smuggler Max Mermelstein, who at the time was the only American alive ever admitted to the inner circle of the Colombian cocaine cartel. The screenplay by Tabor and Michael Kingston is based on the now deceased Mermelstein’s best-selling autobiography of the same title.

Gyllenhaal playing a cocaine smuggler? Oh, sweet Jesus yes! I'm so ****ing in!

He's definitely on the right track. Make it snow Gyllenhaal!!

Sounds pretty interesting and Gyllenhaal's always great, so I'll definitely be seeing this one.

Funny, seems like not that long ago people were trying to turn Jake into a joke pretty boy type. He's really gained some cred in recent times.

Long live the Gyllenhaal. Long live the king!

They don't say when the movie is set for. So I presume in the next two years.

Hope they get a good cast for this.

Gyllenhaal's doing really offbeat and interesting roles lately.

I'd slightly disappointed if a cover of Snow's Informer isn't used in the soundtrack. Just a tad.

Boom boom down.

Now there's a man who makes it snow every day. Isn't that right Terrance?:o

I doubt they'll keep that title. They'll probably change it to something uninspired like "The Kingpin."

I really didn't start paying attention to him until I found out he was Tobey's understudy for Spider-man 2 then I realized he would have been so much better.

Oh and the movie will shoot later on in the year.
