The Mandalorian The Mandalorian: General Thread

I hope we see more over the weekend. I swear they cut the trailer so it didn't use any Celebration footage. I always felt, given that things still be in the either... they wanted that out there.
It used a lot of Celebration footage.

Now, this looks badass and the gritty, down and dirty Space Western that Solo tried to be, but failed at IMO. I wasn't all that excited for it before, but after that trailer I'm definitely on board.

Quality trailer, the cinematography is something else for a tv show, should be something really special fingers crossed.

Btw, am I the only 90s kid, whose favourite holy crap, moment of the trailer was IG-88 kicking ass? Favreau wasn't kidding when he said the genesis of this series was the stories he came up with when playing with his ESB bounty hunter action figures.

That's IG-11. Just like every protocol droid isn't C3PO, and every Astromech isn't R2D2, we got a new Mercenary Droid out there, maybe a cousin.

Great trailer, this looks incredible, the production values are a game changer for a TV show. The cinematography is stunning and the action and SFX look superb, love seeing the vehicles and The Mandolorian doing some classic quick draw cowboy stuff. :D

These are awesome! Got one of the Speeder Bike shot?

Considering who is backing it I doubt they'll pull a Game of Thrones where only a select few episodes have massive eye candy. The whole season will probably play out like one long film.

When they describe these shows as "8 hour movies", yes, thank you, that's what this guy who sucked in Mindhunter season 2 in 36 hours during a work week wants to see. Movies are cool for short stories, but with streaming being a valid viewing medium, long form storytelling is where it's at.

The trailer looks really good, which is a relief as I've put all my Star Wars hopes towards this project. I hope this delivers the mix of feeling like the old Star Wars but telling a completely new story that's not ripping off the OT or being based on old characters.

It felt more like a teaser than a trailer though, as we didn't get much of what the story is about or who the main character is. Definitely enough to keep my interest high though.

I'm not a massive SW fans but this intrigues me.
That trailer was pretty good.

So he directed 1 episode and is playing/voicing IG-11. I'm on board.

So IG-11 gets confused for IG-88 a lot of the show. That is going to be fantastic.

More of a teaser for sure, no story besides what you can infer from the shots used. Setting up the tone and feel of the show. And boy does it look good.

We belong together...

Was guy actuallycut in half? I'm kind of picturing him being jammed in the door, it's why the next shot it looks like he's the guy holding his crotch area frozen in the slab.

I personally thought he was cut in half.
