Marvel Films The Marvel Studios News and Discussion Thread

I always find it interesting whenever actors say they don't watch the movie/show they are in. All the work, from getting the job, filming for months and doing all the promotions, and not dedicate some spare time to watch the entire finished product.

Though if I was in the same position, I don't think I would want to watch myself acting and hearing my voice.

That's cause you're looking at this like a fan from the outside. To an actor, this is a job. It's how they make a living. So how much when you go home from your job do you want to relive your adventures of the day?

Well... as an actor I'd be interested in seeing the product that the public is watching, after all the months I've been working on it. Sure, it's a job, but there's an artistry that comes with it in one way or another.
I don't know. Actors are weird, man.

It’s different, but when I was a dancer, I would never watch the recordings of my performances. The artistry for me was in the performance itself and in the relationship I developed with the audience in that moment. So watching it after the fact always made me feel a little hollow. Plus I’m wildly self-critical so that didn’t help.

So yeah, if the crowd liked what I did then I was happy. I didn’t need anything else beyond that really.

I'd watch the performances of my co-stars, and fast forward my scenes (at home).

I'm wondering if Renner, just went home after attending the movie premiere of his movies.

Johnny Depp said in a interview once that he's never seen one of his film before.

Avengers 5 to 7 from 2026 to 2028 would be insane! I wouldn't complain, but it seems a bit excessive.

The movie doesn't even have a script or been filmed yet. There is no frigging runtime. This is clickbait and we shouldn't give these people breathe

Yeah. Especially when they're treating their audience with so little respect they somehow think it makes sense to claim it as 'the longest runtime ever' and say people will struggle to sit through it in the theater when they're literally claiming it's two different movies released a year apart, just like Endgame and IW. That article makes so little sense, I wouldn't be surprised if the clickbaiter just has ChatGPT generating their articles for them.

I wouldn't be shocked if Secret Wars ends up being 2 parts for a total of 3 movies between those and Doomsday. But, I don't see any reason to discuss that at this point when we are only getting a script written and casting announcements. No one has any frigging idea how long the movies will end up being now. These clickbait article writers need to be ignored so they just go away

So what happens if Fantastic Four flops? It kind of feels like it's the make-or-break moment of the new era of the MCU and Feige probably can't take another L. Would be wild to see the MCU go out with a whimper and the only real instance we got of Mutants was Deadpool x Wolverine lolz

It's not gonna flop. :o

Not with all that money they're paying RDJ, Disney is gonna use all the box office witchcraft they can muster.

After Fantastic Four breaks even and secures another 5 years of goodwill for the MCU, a pit to Hell opens up and swallows Feige whole.

Yeah, I think both Marvel and DC need to get their s*** together and start making good movies again. As much as I liked Deadpool & Wolverine, it's a gimmicky film. It worked for different reasons, not because of the strength of the story. Once you've seen all the cameos and laughed at all the jokes, there's no much else to go back to.

I truly think the D+ stuff was a very distracting thorn in Feige's side. It spread him way too thin and he couldn't focus on giving a good proper post-Endgame set up (outside of Wandavision and Doctor Strange). Disney threw unlimited money at him to make D+ as successful as possible and it ended up basically shooting them in the foot IMO. Same for LucasFilm and Star Wars. I was shocked that they cancelled The Acolyte after one season when it was the best thing they made, in general, since Mando and Andor S1. Now Star Wars movies, of all the franchises, are seemingly in development Hell and Disney's saving grace is going to be the boring/safe Shawn Levy because he made the $1B on Deadpool & Wolverine. Sad to see.

I think all Mcu films next year are in danger. If a Captain Marvel 2 flopped, it wouldn't surprised me if a Sam Wilson movie, Thunderbolts and F4 also face the same fate. But F4 is the most important out of the 3, so i hope it succeeds so there would be a sequel. I don't care about a Captain America 5 and Thunderbolts 2.

I really like the way you think.

I think they should have a traditional sequel next year. The trio of a legacy movie, new Marvel team and a reboot for a team we've seen in the movies before, is not a very smart combo for their overall 2025 box office. Thats like DC Studios, releasing a movie for The Collective, a reboot for GL and a Robin movie all in the same year. The fact they had a Blade reboot at one point as their fourth film in 2025 was just... I don't see the strategy in their release order.

The box office numbers should be very telling next year.

FF I don't see flopping. I think at worst, it breaks even. I don't think it's gonna be another The Marvels or Eternals

I'm hoping someday we learn what the original plan for the Multiverse Saga was had it not been for the emphasis on the Disney+ stuff. I remain convinced that something like Secret Invasion was initially planned for Captain Marvel 2 before the need to make content took over.

They got Doomsday and Secret Wars coming out.
