Just to be clear--I don't have a problem with commenting about the word being brought up at rallies. I'm just trying to keep this thread from descending into C-word puns, such as:

It's funny, but for how much you blame everything on democrats and liberals, the ppl backing Obama (several has said they belong to neither party) haven't blamed republicans for everything. One person makes a joke, and suddenly all democrats are at fault in your eyes.

I honestly have nothing against you, but you don't help your arguments when you constantly say things like, "just like a liberal", or "democrats are a seed of corruption in the US".

I think most ppl here would agree both sides are at fault in many ways for what has gone on in the US. Not just republicans, and not just democrats. You however seem to want nothing more than to solely blame the dems.

IMO instead of focusing on the blame game, our focus should be on what can be done to fix everything.

For showing poor judgement during the Keating 5 scandal I believe. He was cleared of charges though.

McCain wasn't charged with anything.

As far as Palin, I've already given my opinion. Todd Palin attempted to have a state trooper fired who threatened members of his family with death.

Sure, I guess if you want to examine what it looks like on paper, Palin got hit with an ethics violation, but were I in Todd Palin's shoes and a state trooper with a history of erratic and ILLEGAL behavior began making death threats to my family, I can't objectively state that I would have acted any differently.

Well, based on the latest, it seems like McCain is trying to distance himself from Bush and move back into the middle. Making comments like including Democrats in his cabinet should go a long way to convincing undecided independents. I mean, Obama can talk about unity until the cows come home, but when he is dividing his own party in such an extreme manner, well, its not going to work. McCain is really the only candidate in this election with a consistent record of crossing party lines. Him drifting back to his in the middle, maverick persona is bad news for Barack Obama.

And yes, Sen. McCain was reprimanded by the Senate Ethics Committee for "poor judgment." Which, in the Senate, is comparable to being charged with ethical misconduct.

Here are the latest electoral projections from independent, small media electoral forecasting websites:

Election Projection: Obama 364-174
Electoral-Vote.com: Obama 349, McCain 174, 15 tied
Fivethirtyeight: Obama 347.6-190.4 McCain
Pollster.com: Obama 320, McCain 158, Toss-up 60
Real Clear Politics: Obama 277, McCain 158, Toss-up 103

There are many more, but I'll stop there. The key point is that all small media election projection websites, including the Republican Election Projection and Real Clear Politics, have Obama over 270 electoral votes. This is because polls now objectively show that Obama is well over 270 electoral votes. However, none of the big, and so-called liberal, media websites show Obama over 270 right now. Every single one is even more favorable to McCain than Real Clear Politics:

MSNBC: Obama 264-174 McCain
CNN: Obama 264-174 McCain
New York Times: Obama 260--200 McCain

None of these websites can admit what is patently obvious to even Republican poll watchers right now: Obama is over 270 outside the margin of error. The inability of these big media sites to simply admit reality--reality that is evident in their own reporting about McCain playing from well behind right now--is pathetic.

Maybe they are afraid of being accused of pro-Obama bias (probably). Maybe they are just biased toward McCain (possibly). Maybe they just suck at electoral forecasting (definitely). Maybe they are invested in a close campaign (absolutely). Whatever it is, you would be well served to never, ever listen to big media for election forecasts and horserace information. They just don't have it. Stick to the small media independent websites, since we pretty only exist because the big media websites suck so bad at this stuff. So much information is publicly available now that a few nerds obsessed with poll numbers are much better sources for election information than you will every get from big media. The lack of depth in horserace coverage on major news websites is actually how I discovered the blogosphere myself back in 2002.

Um, I don't trust the media, I trust independent polling organizations which have been polling THOUSANDS of independent voters over the past few months and have shown that Obama is SIGNIFICANTLY ahead among independents.

I also trust the polls which currently have Obama with HUGE leads in states such as Virginia, Florida, New Mexico, Iowa and Colorado... considering all five of those states went to Bush and now appear to be tilting heavily in Obama's favor...
