I actually fear I'll never get into another book as much as I got into HP. I mean, I love the ASoIaF books and that world GRRM has created, but they can often be a bit of a chore to get through sometimes when they're focusing on characters I don't particularly care about. With HP, I just cared so much all the time (at least, from PoA onwards). I wish I could find another series to hook me like that, but I think a lot of it has to do with timing and where I was in my life at that point so it's not likely to happen again.

And sorry, I'm just getting caught up, but Reek - you really didn't like BvS? I'm...surprised. And sorry to hear it.

Those are BIG variables, especially for stuff that is constructed for a certain demographic.

For toons, that BEN 10 franchise was pretty big for a time and, again, no real response from myself. I get why it was popular but I never "got it", which is weird because I adored GENERATOR REX and it wasn't as well received.

I didn't figure you'd be in need of a remedy.

Why not? Because I like DC??!?!!!? HUH HATER?

...i like marvel too.

The movies not so much.

The centaurs... they cut the goddamn centaurs.

Speaking of woes.... That reminds me how glad I am Nice Guys is hitting a couple of weeks after Sausage Factory: Civil War.

if civil war doesnt get a 98% and make a billion dollars, they are cancelling Infinity War

I knew you were up to something.

Yeah Potter was a much easier read than ASoIaF.

I did not like BvS. 4/10... but i see it's potential in a longer version and edited better... if you're catching up you'll see what i had said.

One Piece is also a series too big to start now.

Interesting... I started reading it when I had a subscription to SHONEN. Never finished it up. A lot of Manga/Anime seems to never grab me enough to finish all the way to the end. Sometimes they stretch things out for too long.

BAH! 737 20 minute episodes ain't that hard to binge in a month, great thing about anime, just speeds through. :p
737 is the number of episodes Breaking Bad should have had.:o

When he saw it in theatres in 1994.... he would've been 38 or so.

Honestly, just cuz you didn't seem to have the problems with the materials we'd seen from the film prior to release that some of us had. You seemed to be liking what you were seeing. But given your reasons for disliking it, I can see now why that makes sense. Sorry man. Believe me, I completely understand your frustrations. :(

The centaurs... they cut the goddamn centaurs.
YES. But perhaps the most unforgivable cut for me was Voldy's backstory. That alone made HBP my 2nd favorite of the books and they completely nixed it, the bastards.

Question: Is it an a**hole thing to do my laundry at 12:30 in the morning? The machines are out in the garage but my roommates son and his wife stay in the room that by the garage.

I have a load in the washer and one in the dryer and still have one more load I need to do. Not sure what my plans are for tomorrow but I would like to have my schedule free in case something I do want to do pops up.

Also, I constantly have to deal with his annoying ass kid that for some unknown reason seems to think any time he sees me he needs to talk to me. I think he's like 4 or 5. Pre-school age essentially.

Take last night for instance, I got home kind of late, house was dark, all seemed to be resting. I had my headphones on watching videos in my room and I thought I kept hearing something. Finally I go to my door and open it and that kid is standing there and asks if he can play with my POP figures.

I had no idea wtf to do in that situation so I just turned the tv in his room on and told him to go back to bed. Around midnight or so he's freaking out for whatever is on tv and his dad had to come in and calm him down. I didn't sign any contract that I was gonna be babysitting when I moved in here.

TL;DR: roommates kid annoys me all the time, is doing laundry in the wee hours of the morning acceptable?

ASOIAF is pretty surprisingly digestible for such thick books.
Oh I still agree with that. There are just some parts I had to plod through, but on the whole they still never fail to at least hold my attention.
