It's not a stretch. Mattel addressed it, and said there was a market for it. They plan on making them when the market isn't saturated with toys from current Batman movie lines. Just like the "Rocky" movie figures from Jakks. That has a REALLY small market. Batman appeals to everyone, even if they are figures based off previous franchises.That's quite a stretch. Just because they have it doesn't mean they will. There's no market for it except for the past-franchise-lovin' fanboys. Which, I might add, is not a big enough market.
And besides, chances are the figures would suck anyway. Mattel is terrible at toymaking.
Mattel is just as good as anyone else in the figure game. If it means getting B89, Returns figures ... so be it. They won't be any worse than the Kenne joints from back in the day. Collectors aren't riding their jocks because they are focused on marketing the brand to kids. So adults like some of you get your panties in a bunch if your wet action figure dream isn't realize in plastic form. This isn't McFarlane. Mattel's stuff is cool if you're a kid at heart. You can find appreciation in alot of things.
