Is that a movie spoiler or just a story they made to tease us about what's coming in December? I mean, does this mean he's known as the Joker at the beginning of the film? I'd like to at least see flashbacks of what happened to him.

Either way, I think being able to hear Ledger as the Joker for the first time was pretty neat.

I remeber reading somewhere about a rumor that he gets his face messed up from a zipline or wire or something slicing into his face.

Sounds painful but I think it would be better if someone did it to him like the mob. This picture has me curious because it looks like Ledger in a clown mask before he puts on the white makeup and stuff. (the hair looks like his atleast)
I wonder if he is betrayed for doing something and the guy shoots him through the cheeks. Because, from the images I've seen, it looks like both of his cheeks are bubbled up...more so on the left. Perhaps he turns his head and the bullet goes into his right cheek and explodes out his left. And the whole clown mask thing gives him the idea to put on the makeup permantly.

you know that for a fact? In the images of Joker section, the first image looks like Ledger with that color suit on...even the same buttoned up shirt. Of course its blurry so I can be wrong. I'm just throwing out suggestions...

You could be onto something there. I totaly get what you're saying about the scars on his cheeks. Makes sense. Also would give more depth into why he's a threat to both the Good and Bad of Gotham. The mob turns on him and he in return is a threat to them, alonge with the police and Batman. I however like the theory of Batman hitting him with a bat-arang and scarring him, but that's just me.

Actually, No HE'S NOT. He's the one in the front. Go back and check out the spy pics from the bank robbery. Ledger is the one wearing the blue shirt. The guy in the back is NOT LEDGER. Not trying to sound pushy, but The Joker is the one in front. The guy in the back most likely turns on the Joker and shoots him.

Perhaps it is a flashback scene and thats why the Joker is caught and sent to prison...then of course breaks out when Batman Begins happened

ya but something obviously enters one cheek and goes out the other. His actual mouth isn't connected to the scarred part. I don't see how anything but a bullet could do that...no?

its pointless making these assumtions I know...but atleast it entertains me. I can't wait a year . I waited a long while for Spiderman 3 and boy was that movie baaaaad.

I kinda agree. Even though the pic is blurry, you can see the aspect of the arm and gun, and it isn't pointing right at "the camera" like it should appear if the guy in the back is pointing at the guy in the foreground with our point of view.

his mouth looks pretty normal to me. Its the cheek areas that are all messed up...left side more than the right.
