The movie was good...but I don't like the director....

So just watched X-Men 3 and I thoroughly enjoyed it....it was quite a bit edgier than the last two I have to say.

I hadn't been on this website in awhile and since I was craving more X-Men so I decided to come read some articles and interviews...and I read the latest Brett Ratner interview....what an *$$...seriously, when they ask him if he is thinking about the next X-Men movie he says "no, I don't think about anything until I get the check" or something along those lines...wow glad someone who cares so much about what he is doing is in charge of X-Men*sarcasm*

On top of that he admits that he just mix-matched what characters looked like and what powers they had from the comics just to make the movie "easier" for his sake pretty much.....

The guy made a great movie...but after reading the way he feels about things, I can't stand the man at all....

I really didn't enjoy it at all. I went in expecting something really bad, and it turned out to be terrible in my opinion. In my rant, I will explain, but they are spoilers, so do not view them if you don't want the movie ruined.

I hated how they killed Scott at the very beginning. It didn't bother me too much, though, because I really didn't like Cyclops anyway, but still, at the beginning? Also, you can't kill Xavier at the halfway point in the movie. The 40 Xavier free minutes of this movie sucked. And why kill everyone? The plot line was ****ty, so they just killed them. Awesome turn of events. Lets have a mass genocide of "pawns" when they attack Alcatraz. And the whole "I'm the Juggernaut, *****!" was just overkill. They could have left that part out.

That's just my take on it. If you liked it, good. I just personally found it to be disappointing.

Oh I l;ike the fact that all that happened, made for a few suprises!
You did stay till after the credits didnt you for the final twist?

Well, if this movie is good and measures up to the previous two movies, then I don't care who directed it, just so long as it entertains me.

Exactly !

ditto here.

:marv:

It is good but you can see that they wanted to end it. THough I hope there is more down the road.

Well it's been stated that this one is sort of thought of as the end of the trilogy but not necessarily the end of X-Men movies...meaning that they wanted to have closure for the things brought up in the first two movies while still leaving it so they can open brand new storylines.

Yeah, I did. At least that happened. I was still disappointed with the movie as a whole though.

Singer practically handed this franchise to Ratner and he still screwed it up?

Yeah, the guy screwed it up bad. He just didn't appreciate it like singer did.

EXACTLY! He has absolutely NO appreciation for the X-men...that's the problem...and it's GLARINGLY obvious in his interview...first by the fact that he so casual just mixes and matchs mutants as he feels fit to make the plot easier for him to explain...second the statement that he hasn't even THOUGHT about another X-Men movie and won't until he gets paid...he's everything wrong with Hollywood....
