do you agree with me in saying that it is now infinite again

Er. Not really? There's 52 Earths at last count.

No. It's limited to the 52 universes + New Earth, Earth-Prime, and the Anti-Matter Universe and will stay that way until DC says so.

I believe "Earth-Prime" and "New Earth" are both counted amongst the 52. So technically it would be 50 universes + New Earth + Earth-Prime.

Nope, New Earth has been specifically mentioned to be a separate universe from the 52. It's essentially Earth-0.

Also, Earth-Prime is specifically not numbered like the other universes, just like the Anti-Matter Universe. While not confirmed to not be a part of the 52, it can be assumed that it is not a part of the 52.

However, now that I think about it, there might only be 51 universes now since the universe that contained Milestone was merged into New Earth.

I'm going to try to put this as gently as I can, but basically you are wrong and I am right. :awesome: New Earth is essentially Earth-0, yes, but there is no "Earth-52." The list goes Earth-0 through Earth-51 (which is currently the New Gods universe). Yes, it's a stupid way to name the universes, but trust me...I read all of Countdown and the ridiculous naming convention stood out even there. And yes, "Earth-Prime" is back, but there is no reason to think it isn't amongst the 52 either, especially now that we've found out that the Threeboot Legion is from there.

Google or wiki it if you don't believe me.

Holy crap, I forgot that there isn't an Earth-52! My bad, though I retain the right that calling it the 52 yet there is no Earth-52 is ******ed :(

That said, Earth-Prime is still debatable since it is specifically not numbered and is mentioned as Earth-Prime as if it's a side universe like the Anti-Matter Universe. It should be given a number in order for it to be counted as part of the 52 :argh:

Well, there may be 52 Earths in this mutliverse that DC wants to call 'Ourz Multiverse, duds', but ultimately it is infinite, because you we all know that just because DC has these 52 alternate Earths, there's always going to be Elseworlds or alternate futures that don't fit those 52.

We are all dumber for debating this.

Maybe, but I don't know...there's been brain murdering worse I think. This is just kind of mildly dumb like a dog running into a wall and losing its senses for a moment

on wikipedia at the end of the intro to the 52 it says there are more than 52 worlds now

As I've said before, any multiverse is basically non-important, so I don't get why they want to flesh it out so much. The only ones that matter are the main universe and maybe the evil one, but the rest (cowboy, monkey, zombie, reverse-gender, etc.) are just not necessary to put that much effort into.

The Multiverse is very important

Not really, considering that you could tell all kinds of stories within the confines of the main universe, and even if you don't want to, your mystical cowboy versions of the Justice League fighting space zombie dinosaur story doesn't need to be incorporated into continuity by designating it as Earth-MCVOTJLFSZD.

They already overwrote the Earth-16 established in Countdown: Arena with the upcoming Young Justice cartoon. I'm looking forward to the other continuity f***-ups that will inevitably come from various people trying to use various Earths for various things, 'cause you just know that there's no reference for which Earth is what on any editor's computer at DC. They're probably referring to Wikipedia like everyone else. :)

they didn't overwrite it young justice and chris kent are both from earth 16 chris kent is just from that earth's future but can we get back to the main subject who thinks the multiverse is now infinite

No one because DC has definitively said it's not. It's 52 Earths, period.
