Naturally, but keep him as a "shadowed" figure.
Wong would be sliding down a slippery slope if he started off with Ma Jr. & didn't include Kami either.
So how do you think Wong will approach the whole Piccolo/Kame thing if we have Marsters as Piccolo? Ask yourself these questions, will Marsters double as Kame as well? Will Kame be old looking, remembering that Kame and Piccolo are one in the same so they should look similar of age? How will Marsters pull off an old looking alien?
I think that Kami should be CGI while King Piccolo is Marsters in make-up. Also, I don't think they should be of similar age because they once were until King Piccolo wished for his youth back which caused him to become younger than Kami.
But in this movie Piccolo is trying to find the balls to dominate the universe
that would be funny to read if taken out of context...hehe
What are you talking about?
hey do you guys think this dude will be make-up? Will he look exactly like his animated counterpart or are they gonna do CGI? I know nothing at this point
Then you know as much as we do
Yep, 'bout right.
Yep, I wish we could get some pics of Marsters as Piccolo.
Give it a week and we might see him on set with perhaps makeup on.
I imagine they'll take the route of CG, like they did with Davy Jones in POTC. Unless they get some exceedingly proficient makeup artists into this movie's production, that'll be the only thing to make it believable.
hey this is a movie. a hollywood movie.
roshi wont be a small old man.
as long as piccolo is not a lot smaller then goku.
i agree plus they have a budget like POTC and of course ILM is doing the effects.
come on. if you want davy jones quality you need a lot of money and ILM. if not we will get nintendo graphics.
And we live in an era of film where for better of for worse: if the CGI is crap, there's an automatic reaction within whatever fan base to reject the film altogether, even if the story was adequate. A few recent superhero flicks spring to mind that suffered at the box office, and I bet suffered on DVD sales because the special effects were less than today's technology standard.
if i go in the summer to watch a action superhero movie.....then the effects need to be top notch.
I try not to be freakishly shallow when it comes to special effects... yet I do want my money's worth, and do not want crappiness to be a distraction.
Leave the CGI for backgrounds and the fights. That way they save money for other stuff like location renting, re-shoots, and good makeup and costumes. The Piccolo costume can be done without CGI relatively easy, and the slug antennas on his head don't even need to be CGI, because they only need to move if his head moves, so they can just be plastic or silicone if they want them on him.
I doubt they can get away with a lot of plastic and stuff these days. Kudos to them if they can. I just don't want Piccolo to look like something off of Power Rangers.
Look at the green bad guy in that movie and tell me that dsnt look real . That was back in 1999 and it looks very much like piccolo, so I think makeup and a costume can do just fine.
I only saw very brief glimpses of the green monster. It looked fine, but I'm skeptical because of that brevity.
But Alan Rickman is cool.
There's nothing wrong with make-up & costumes as long as it's done by the right people.
