Okay by now we know the plot of the movie and all, ao we know that HB will face tooth fairies trolls and all kinds of mithological creatures.
Iam a little bit worried that these creatures will not look creepy emnough and cool enough if you catch my drift specially the elve prince.
On the first film HB fought great and scary creatures like the samael and specially kroenen, those characters were dark and scary. Now he faces fairies, I mean will they look like regular fairies or will they be like demonic fairies with monstrous faces? and the elve prince, will he be a pretty boy elf or a orc like disfigured creature with a sword?(you know like basically a dark elf) I hope he's the second and that all of the creatures end up looking like monsters and not just like cute creatures turned bad if you know what I mean. Afterall this is hellboy and his world and his enemies are supposed to be dark and not cute I just want HB fighting powerfull
and creepy badguys.

What do you guys think?
Oh and btw do you think that the golden army ends up being summoned and HB has to fight them? I hope so and i hope they look cool too.

Have you ever seen a Guillermo DelToro movie where the creatures weren't the coolest thing about the film.

Who would have thought roaches would be so cool? Not me.

I recommend you read the fairy related story that he wrote for the Hellboy ODDER JOBS book. He wrote that thinking that he wouldn't get enough money in his sequel budget to tell that story in the movies. That's what he has in mind for Hellboy 2. Read that and tell me you aren't excited.

Thanks I will, I just want that elf prince to look bad ass and evil you know, besides the rest of the creatures of course and the GA

If anyone can make creatures known to be cute and lovable, into grotesque, horrible creatures then it is GDT.

I wonder if the elfs, goblins and such are gonna be CGI or puppets. Or a bit of both...

I'm guessing, the human sized being will be make-up and suite's etc. But the bigger than human proportions will be CGI.

That 100% percent true, his next movie looks great.

Not to mention the creatures in Mimic and the Reapers in Blade II looked awesome, as well as Sammael of course!

^Very good point, the Reapers in Blade II are some of the coolest creatures i've ever seen.

Yea Blade 2 and Pan's Labyrinth creatures looks awsome, So I have complete faith in Del Toro.

Guillermo is a good director who seems to get better with each movie, and judging by his love of the comics, and the comic fantastic array of awesome creatures, we are not gonna get let down! (i think)

I think Pan's Labryinth looks great.

The problem? That movie looks more like "Hellboy" to me than the actual Hellboy movie did. So I'd love to see more of that imagery translated over to Hellboy.

Nothing in Hellboy really creeped me out. Not even Sammael or Rasputin's monster.

I thought the Reapers were scarier and creepier than anything in Hellboy. So sometimes, I don't really get Del Toro's disconnection with Blade 2. In many ways I feel it is the superior film and experience to Hellboy.

Yea, at times you could tell Hellboy was a pg-13 rated film.

Blade II is definately superior in terms of action and creatures, but i think HB had the more heart and story. Though i do love both movies A LOT, as you see in my sig, they both make my top ten CB movies.

I think Hellboy had hints of more of a heart and story, but Del Toro chose to emphasize the wrong ones.

Namely Myers instead of Bruttenholm and Hellboy.

I'm more disappointed with this now that all the setup they did with Myers from the first movie and now he's gone. Just such a waste of space and screen-time they could've used on more productive things.

There's a reason we don't see Rupert Evans doing much else either.

Well i didnt think RE's acting was bad at any point in the movie, in fact in some scene's i thought he acted very well. And IMO he was necessary for us to have a human connection to the characters.

I agree and were you aware that Rupert is actually English? I was completely unaware of this until someone told me. He hides his accent so well that I actually thought he was American until told otherwise. If you watch the cast commentary you'll get to hear his accent and quite frankly I find it very charming.
