Due to the magic of modern pricing, six comics are now $23. Ah, Jan. 2011 cannot come fast enough. Although since Marvel is only limiting their price gouging to new ongoing titles next year, it may not effect mini's, which are at least 50% of their output. Still, not as heavy as this week, and all good titles. The Handbook is always a worthy read for the price (barring typo's).

Quality wise, looks like a solid week.

You know, in retrospect, DC dropping its prices doesn't really affect me too much. I'm so not into most of their "big" comics that the vast majority of stuff I buy from them was $2.99 already...

Marvel's price drops won't effect too many books if books that debuted at $3.99 per issue before 1/2011 stay there and the price of mini's and one-shots remain the same. $2.99 debut issues may help some newer series have a chance, though. Would YOUNG ALLIES be doing better if $4 wasn't demanded of that first issue? Or SWORD? Who knows.

That said, Marvel is willing to lower the price of one-shot's for special occasions. A slew of SIEGE one-shots were $2.99.

TALES OF THE DRAGON GUARD INTO VEIL #2 (OF 3) (MR) $5.99 - (I wonder when Marvel is gonna stop putting out these Soliel titles. At my shop, I'm the only one picking them up.)

They'd probably sell better if Marvel didn't charge double the price of a standard comic for them. I enjoyed the first Sky Doll mini a lot, but when I realized there were several more minis that would all cost me nearly $20 for 3 issues each, I had no compunctions about ditching them.

I dropped DMZ when Mattie started getting really deep into the political side of things. I preferred him as an outside observer, since the whole point of the series seemed to be about the power of the press.
