The New Ending

See, here are my gripes with that:

2) If a giant alien force destroys New York, the world unites against it. If Manhattan, a (former) human from America does it, then that only causes more disputes. There's no Utopia to be had there.
That's why he attacks several locations across the globe.

if Manhatten attacks, it'll won't cause disputes amongst nations especially if he attacks other countries too.

Yeah, because Snyder definitely has power over the film's runtime. If he had the chance to release the Director's Cut into theatres, I'm sure he would have.

My point is that he added an ending (that doesn't quite make enough sense to justify its existence) to save time, when it's actually spending more time than is welcome.

Why would Manhattan care enough about humanity to make new cars for them? How wouldn't he see it coming, assuming he would care?
These questions could be asked of the graphic novel. Manhattan makes new fuel cells for cars in the comic also. He didn't predict Veidt's plan because of the electromagnetic disturbance.

Clay the set photographer got to see the final cut tonight. And he's talking over there, hinting that the squid ending is used. So interesting. Possibly may have re-inserted the old ending. Who knows?

EDIT: Nevermind some one just edited his post or something. Its possible that some one just quoted him wrong. My bad. But he did get to see it. Can't wait to hear details. No squid ending. My bad.

We won't be hearing details. He's the set photographer, he wouldn't put his job on the line like that, just to please a few fans.

You never know. Not through him. But some one that may have been at that screening as well.

One thing is certain. You can't always 100% keep everyone quiet. Hehe. And that benefits the fans ;)

That wouldn't make it better...

Better then just one city. If it was just New York, trust me, America would investigate, and squint at the Russians, thinking foul play. All over the world, would take pressure off of one side or another.

In my opinion, all over the world would put alot of pressure on America, since they own/made/used Manhattan.

True, but it seems Snyder has put emphasis on the fact that Manhattan has turned his back on everyone and went Rouge to Mars. And attacking America as well would lessen that pressure. Especially if Manhattan made demands. Making even more of a threat to stop fighting.

But Manhattan left humanity to be on Mars, and since Manhattan hit several locations including the US, how could the US be blamed? It would look like Manhattan's revenge scheme. If US and the Soviets work together to go after Manhattan, why would the Soviets think it's US's fault if they want to hunt down there own weapon? Everyone would be a victim of the Manhattan disasters. Works just fine IMO.

Well that's good. If there's a big emphasis on abandoning America then it could work. I still prefer an alien threat though, though I never liked the squid specifically.

I just think that people would consider it another one of America's massive **** ups. That said (as above) if the emphasis is right it could work.

That's, at the very least, hugely debatable. :o

I, for one, think that the ending of multiple targets is a great loss for many characters (especially Veidt) and for the whole story.

It will probably be Snyder's worst mistake, and it will show.

I think it is from Art Of The Film...or maybe The Film Companion
