That's ridiculous. If you have relevant criticisms, those are valid opinions. To simplify those as derogatory terms aimed at specific social group that has no bearing on those relevant criticisms is exactly what makes it an "-ism."

Again, I'm not saying those are not sexist comments (or racist or whatever), I'm saying that the hate is not fueled by sexism (like they are trying to sell the movie)

Sorry, I'm not seeing much of a difference. If you don't like the movie(well... trailer) for legitimate reasons, there is no reason to use those other comments.

The difference is, in one scenario, one is a f-ing a-hole, in the other, one is entitled to hate, but is expressing it in a a-hollery manner. One's behaviour is wrong in both cases, but in the first case the movie gets an unfair hate, and in the other gets unfair comments. Only in the first scenario you could say the movie is hated because of sexism.

What if...and I know this is so hard to understand...but what if...both things are happening simultaneously, by different people? What if every person has their own reasons to either hate on or defend the movie? What if some of the backlash the film has gotten, more backlash than any other dreaded remake of a beloved property, is sexist?

Not sure if this has been posted before. I'm no hater, I will go see the movie in theatres because I'm a big fan of Ghostbusters but I do have a feeling that this will be a bad movie.

Just found out about this poster. If you thought the marketing couldn't have gotten any worse... they just don't get it.

I feel like this movie is just trolling people at this point. With that poster and this theme song. It's like some odd meta joke to make people mad. It doesn't feel like they honestly tried to make something good here.

The thing about the new Fall Out Boy song is that even if this had been a proper Ghostbusters III, it probably still would have been used anyway to revamp the original song. Remember the Run DMC version from Ghostbusters II?
