The New Ghostbusters - Part 8

That and they want to play it up cause that's all they have as far as hype. Never mind that geek audiences are stoked for Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman. Or how everyone loved Rey. McCarthy had the best comments recently saying that the bottom level troll hate is the minority. That's how they should be handling it. Not reveling in it saying the hate is the greatest thing ever like Tom Rothman. The guy who has also said "**** the fans we have their money" and was stopping Fox from getting Deadpool made.

If those numbers are any sign, this better hope for good reviews. A Ghostbuster film should be opening far more then 15m higher then Pixels. Nostalgia doesn't look to drive this one.

They keep getting this whole thing wrong. Audiences isn't "attacking" because they are all women. Is because it doesn't-look-like-a-good-movie-at-all.
At this point, I think they're just saying the women stuff just to avoid criticism. And that is terrible.

Females over the age of 25 are by far the most interested in seeing the new Ghostbusters, according to those with access to prerelease tracking.
I'm guessing these are mostly women who are fans for Feig's movies and Melissa McCarthy.

Party Man and Trust were awesome.

They are great songs. My favorite track on the album is The Arms of Orion...but I'm talking about Bat Dance, and there just is no excuse for it. Then again, Ghostbusters (I'm not Afraid) is pretty indefensible.

Worst Prince song ever made > best Fall Out Boy song ever made

It's science!

A terrible cover for a terrible remake.

That Fall Out Boy cover is so cringey.

Secondhand embarrassment, y'all.

Just saw Feig tweet that they are already doing press screenings. Might have some reviews or Twitter reactions soon.

Critics love Paul Feig, for some reason, i think it'll do good, i thought Bridesmaids was funny but Spy was just boring to me, i only laughed at the Jason Statham scenes, i didnt care about everything else, also saw The Heat, wasnt that good.

You know, if this movie ends up becoming a critical bomb then what are they going to say?

I found nothing to complain about. Was it my favorite cover? No. The first minute and thirty seconds was terrible, following that when it let itself be more original then it became tolerable. From the complaints on here I thought it would be ear bleeding, it's passable. Reminded me of the Nightmare Before Christmas rock cover album. Would I listen to it repeatedly or more than once? No. Does it make my ears bleed while I scream "oh the humanity!!!"? No. It's passable. Basically from reactions I was expecting any Spice Girls song ever made, I had a younger sister - to me that's psychological warfare lol.

an already crappy movie gets a crappy theme song and an even crappier movie tie-in videogame

Sony really wants the Ghostbusters franchise to fail

i'm just glad Harold Ramis isn't around to see this train wreck

Hey, this is what Bill Murray wanted to give us. Years of saying no, waiting to give us a great Ghostbusters film that can live up........ So, I'd say equally thank Bill Murray as well as Sony because this was largely his doing. Actually... Wondering if on Bill's part it could have been legit sabotaging....

I doubt Bill made it a point to legitimately sabotage the franchise...

I just don't think he gives a **** about it. And he hasn't for a long time.

At this point I think Murray really doesn't give a **** about anything.

Legitimate criticism does not beget the sexist element. This is like when people say that Trump voters aren't sexist, racist, etc. Are some truly not? Of course. That doesn't mean plenty aren't in fact those things.

The backlash for this movie is insane. It goes beyond fans being upset.

I love both Bridesmaid and Spy. Think they are great. Never seen the Heat, it never appealed to me.

I enjoyed The Heat, but Spy is my favorite Feig movie by far.

It is my favorite as well. I thought it was funny that my brother and mother did not want to see it based on the tv spots and trailers, but I convinced them to go with me based on the RT score. We all quite love it.

I think Melissa McCarthy has hurt her stock with a lot of the public with her willingness to do pretty much everything. I don't blame her for getting that paper, and I find her very funny a lot of the time, but I think it has hurt the public perception.
