I won't spoil, but let's just say it wasn't all that. The artwork was sloppy, inconsistent and showed little understanding of anatomy. StarChild looked like an ape in some profiles. There was no 'grand transformation' either, KISS was simply told what they were and it was like, "Oh really?"
The panels were often incomprehensible and hard to follow. Ghouls were drawn okay (easier) but human figures were changeable and morphed from ok to weird.
A female character heavily involved in the plot didn't seem to know her purpose yet she could tell KISS all about themselves (huh???)
There were some good points. I liked the more down to earth Celestial who speaks in complete sentences. And Beast King seems to have more intellect here (also refreshing). I hope they show him having specific powers for a change. Its good that the Unholy character is brought over from the last comic series.
It was only the first issue, so I'll see how it goes. Overall grade C+
