*The New Superhero Cinematic Civil War Thread - Part 61

Meh. I don't think it would've that hard to salvage the character but Feige and co. thought otherwise.
I think it was the one-two punch of Quantamania being a turd and the Majors allegations. I do think if Quantamania were a big hit they likely would've just recast with someone else. Could be wrong tho

Thunderbolts has looked pretty dang good since the first trailer so I'm glad my optimism was warranted.

Once they had to fire Majors, Kang was done. They were never going to recast that part under those circumstances.
They would have if Kang had actually resonated with audiences. Recasting is nothing new to them but since Quantumania fell flat they went scorched earth with it. I also wouldn't rule out a recast Kang popping up somewhere. If Marvel revisited the supporting cast of something as forgotten by general audiences as The Incredible Hulk then Kang coming back down the line isn't off the table.

Kang as a character just wasnt working. He just wasnt. I dont even remember what his purpose in season 2 of Loki was. I feel like he was just kind of there when season one set him up perfectly to be this big bad boogie man, like Thanos.

Thunderbolts potentially being good is nice. It's the only one I had any investment in until the next Spidey. Like that it seems to be heavy on the Yelena and papa.

On RT. Did they ditch the average score number?

Seems like they did, which makes it a pain for better analysis. But it seems they still have that for audiences, which is total trash value.

With his announcement as the new captain america, I was really sceptical after seeing pictures of Wyatt Russell. I couldnt be more wrong. He convinced me with his rough-confident appereance in F&WS from the first second and he had such an interesting character arc, the best one in the show imo. Seeing Thunderbolts delayed and delayed was kind of frustrating. I will see him in 9h on the big screen and I am super hyped now.

It's not always obvious
but Wyatt looks SO much like his father in your avvy

Glad he's getting another shot (or two) at the character after F&TWS let everyone down

“Why aren’t people taking the guy who got dragged away screaming by ants seriously as the next Thanos?”

Guys if the Phase One MCU Avengers fought a silverback gorilla, who’d win? :o
Oooooohh, let's make things interesting and say no weapons or superpowers are allowed other than Cap being all super soldiered up since it doesn't make him invincible. That renders Black Widow and Hawkeye useless, Banner isn't allowed to turn into the Hulk and Tony isn't allowed to use his suit so they're no help either. Steve would put up a decent fight but my money's still on the silverback since we've seen Cap get his ass kicked before. It'd probably come down to Thor vs. the gorilla. Might be a good matchup even if he can't use Mjolnir but the gorilla would probably get tired first.

I've been thinking about the 100 men vs. 1 gorilla thing more than I care to admit since this stupid thing went viral a few days ago. I feel like the only way for them to win is if everyone worked together and dogpiled on the gorilla like Agent Smith. :o

OMG Drizzy me too @ the bolded. But I don’t give a damn, 100 unarmed men even if they included 80s Mike Tyson, Kimbo Slice, and Draymond Green, they still wouldn’t do a damn thing to that gorilla.

A gorilla literally has super strength and even its skin is crazy thick. There’s no way it’s losing. :sneeze:
