God damn Syn you're still playing Todd? Groovy baby.

I'll sort something out monday and throw an app up for Crane.

I just recently got my internet back up and running and I wanted to ask what Batman villians has been used over the course of this RPG. I want to apply for a Batman villian that hasn't been touched.

The only villains that have been introduced are as follows.

Joker
Harvey Dent (not yet as Two Face)
Killer Moth - Drury Walker
Oswald Cobblepot (Nickname/alias is not Penguin)
Dr. Jonathan Crane (Not yet as Scarecrow) Gallagher has expressed interest and will be returning soon...AKA NOW, dude. :cmad:
Dr. Harleen Quinzell (not yet Harley Quinn)
Black Mask - Roman Sionis (deceased)
Bane - Currently played by Spike_x1
Tally Man
Jervis Tech
Firebug
John Paul Valley
Killer Croc

I think I'm missing a few minor guys, but no one else who's big league.

There's also Edward Nygma, who's actually a GCPD Detective in this continuity. He's currently being played by Byrd Man.

Syn basically covered all of the major villains introduced so far, barring Edward Nygma, Solomon Grundy, Red Hood, and Selina Kyle. All of the pre-crisis early Batman villains like Monk and Dr. Death have also been said to have been put away.

Application .

. THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG .
Character Application

.Screen name: True Mastermind

.Character you wish to portray: Dr. Thomas Elliot

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Villian

.Powers and physical attributes: Thomas is one of the world's greatest minds as he witholds a vast knowledge of many sciences, particulary human psychology. As a result of his genius, Thomas is a master planner and manipulator, using these skills to get whatever he desires. Thomas is also in pinnacle physical condition, with strength crawling on the border of supernatural. He has learned a variety of fighting styles from when he was traveling abroad and even shows expertise in using a firearm.

.Origin and back-story (as you see it): Thomas Edward Elliot was born to the wealthy socialites Richard and Delores Elliot on the evening of December 2, 1980. Ridiculously spoiled, young Thomas started to develop the mentality that he could get or do whatever he wanted, without any punishment. And he was correct. Any mischievous endeavors that Thomas took place in was clouded by people drooling over his amazing intelligence. Bullying, stealing, jaywalking, nobody ever bothered to keep the brash adolescent under control. But Thomas got his dues when both Richard and Delores suffered an unfortunate death as their Gotham residence was burned down by wanted criminal Garfield Lynns while Thomas managed to escape with a horrific scar on his chest.

Thomas moved in with his uncle in New York after the tragic incident, who brought the young man under control and taught him how to get the things he wanted, in both good and bad ways. But Thomas later learned, when he was 18, that his uncle was just trying to charm the boy so he could receive a large cut of Thomas' inheritance. Thomas slit his dear old uncle's throat and framed his best friend for the hideous crime.

Leaving New York behind, Thomas traveled all around the world, seeing gorgeous sights and sampling fine cuisine before heading back to the U.S to attend Harvard, where he eventually received his PhD in psychology in only four years. After years of being the world's expert on human psychology, Thomas finally returned back to Gotham to restore the sanity of the city's more deranged criminals at Arkham Asylum.

.The burning question - Why this character?: Well, I’ve never seen “Hush” being played before so I decided to put my spin on the old chum.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: To start off, Thomas Elliot has never even met Bruce Wayne or any of his family. My Thomas also actually adored his parents instead of despising as a result of them greatly spoiling him from the time he was conceived to their untimely death. Rather than a world-class surgeon, Thomas is one of the world’s leading experts in human psychology with a great knowledge of many other sciences. Thomas has even signed on to be a psychiatrist and leading researcher at Gotham’s Arkham Asylum.

Thomas’ motive towards causing crime has changed from revenge on Bruce Wayne to just straight up greed. He will use his slick, calculating ways to manipulate his foes and allies while trying to not to have his true nature exposed.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: A sly, corrupt doctor who has great ambition.

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more: " Dr. Elliot, I just wanted to say that we here at Arkham Ayslum are so lucky to have you on our staff. It sure is a great honor to be in your presence," I'm just a damn psychiatrist, not ****** Batman for crying out loud. I'm starting to regret ever accepting this job. People stare at me like I'm sort of God or something; having a myriad of eyes on me at all times is just flat out creepy, even worse than the murderous maniacs that roam this dump. At least I get to get close to these crazies and learn what they're truly like. Once I finally snap back into focus, I realize that we've reached our destination.

" Let me warn you Dr. Elliot, this is one of our most troubled inmates. He's hardly made any progress since he's been inducted into the Ayslum, he might have even gotten worse. "
With fear making him shake like he was nude in Siberia, the young doctor looked up at me with wide, frightened eyes as if he expected me to say something. And as a result, my lips curled into my famous, irresistible smile, leading me to respond with, " All men can be cured doctor...no matter how hard they resist, " The doctor nodded his head as he put his shivering hand on the obsidian doorknob, finally pushing the door open after a strong shove.

Behind the door was a all white room with just two chairs and a large window on the back wall so guards could watch and see if the patient tried anything. In that chair facing me was the most sinister, insane looking man that I've ever seen. He stared at the clean, white floor with his stone cold eyes, not even bothering to acknowledge his visitor. Hideously unkempt, his hair reminded me of a mass of tangled vines and it even emitted a putrid odor. His teeth were horibbly yellow and a symbol of a bat was etched onto his grimy shirt. Being the professional that I am, I calmly ignore all his deformities and place myself in the chair across from the freak. My lips once again transform into my world-reknowned smile, emitting a more peaceful presence into the eyesore of a room.

" Hello Victor. How are you doing today? "

.Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype?:

No offense, dude but that is exactly what I did with Jason Todd. Becoming an expert psychologist and working at Arkham Asylum.

No love for Kite-Man? He's as bigtime as it gets. :csad:

To be fair, I forgot to list one of the guys I play on that list aswell. :csad:

And apparently the Riddler ain't "major" enough to make your list. :cmad:

Yeah, but no one plays him - so who cares? JK. Gotcha

. THE NEW ULTIMATE DC RPG .
Character Application

.Screen name: Gallagher

.Character you wish to portray: Doctor Johnathan Crane

.Hero, villain, or walking the line?: Villain

.Powers and physical attributes: World-renowned professor of medicine and biology. Crane is a man weak in stature yet strong in mind. Is an incredibly gifted chemist.

.Origin and backstory (as you see it): Crane grew up in a rather wealthy home to loving parents Angela and Robert Crane. He had a happy childhood and was often noted as being a fearless little boy that would confront anything and everyone. He always had an interest in human psychology, in his later years keeping it more as a hobby than a profession, following in his father's footsteps to become a Doctor. At the young age of 21 Crane did a stint of volunteer work in Arkham Asylum, these months proved to be eye-opening for the young medical professional, as he interacted with true suffers of many different kinds of mental illness. Now at the age of 28, Crane has applied for a full time job inside Arkham is it's youngest ever Medical Consultant.

.The burning question - Why this character?: I always found Crane to be fascinating and a brilliant parallel to his usual nemesis Batman. I feel as though I can bring something different with Crane, not the usual sympathetic villain that came from a bad neighbourhood with asbusive parents. Crane is someone that goes stark raving mad for no reason at all. He has no excuse, which is refreshing.

.How will this version of your character differ from others? How will it be Ultimate?: This Crane is a bit younger, more confident and strong willed. His up bringing was idyllic and his mother didn't die on him. He's a medical doctor rather than a psychiatrist and resides on Arkham Island.

.What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?: A villain that isn't really going to be all that villainous for awhile, at least not overtly. Also, you lucky bastards, this is the first DC game I've ever played in :up: (not including WSS)

.Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, in three paragraphs or more:

Arkham Diary Entry #037

The suicide patient died today. It appears he broke from his shackles, the sedative used was apparently not strong enough. The patient awoke in his sleep and slashed his wrist with a medical instrument laying nearby.

There is of course a full investigation underway to see if I am at fault at all, it is likely, of course, that I will be cleared of any accusations of negligence. In fact as of now my main assignment other than my regular duties as medical consultant will be to find a safer, stronger alternative to the sedative currently used, apparently they heard of my skills in chemistry.

~~~
Johnathan Crane stat in a small field outside the Asylum, his glasses in his hand as he wiped them clean. The weather was unusually calm for this time of year, the sun was beating down on the island with a certain ferocity.
"Are you alright?"
Doctor Crane turned his head to find a bubbly looking nurse standing behind him, her hands held behind her back.
"Yes. I'm fine thank you."
He said before turning back to his view of the field in front of him.
"I... Don't think we've been properly introduced."
The girl said, causing Crane to turn back to her again, this time she held out a hand. "I'm Harleen Quinzell." She said with a smile. "Friends call me Harley though."
Crane took her hand and shook it disinterestedly. "Hello Harleen." He said, his voice decidedly monotone.
"You're the new guy right?"
Crane sighed under his breath, clearly he'd get no peace here.
"I used to volunteer here as a student but yes, I guess you could say I'm the 'new guy'."
"Well, what're you doing out here?"
She asked playfully, sitting down next to him with a thump.
"I'm on break, just taking in the scenery. I wasn't aware this field was even here."
"Yeah, it's sorta my secret place too, no one ever comes here, save the grounds keeper of course."
The young nurse explains. The two remain silent for a moment before Crane speaks up.
"What's that? In the middle of the field?"
He asks, pointing at a black figure propped up lazily.
"Oh..." Harleen begins. "That's just an old Scarecrow." She says with a certain hint of sadness which Crane picks up at once.
"I sense that there's more than you're telling me."
Crane said slowly, staring at the grass at his feet.
"It's... a long story and not a very nice one."
"I insist."
He said looking up from the ground and into Harleen's eyes. She exhaled deeply before continuing.
"There used to be a whole family here. The father, he worked here, had to bring his kids here to live with him in the staff apartments. The kids were homeschooled and didn't really have any friends on the island being the only children here. One day they decided to make thier own friend. They came here to the field, found extra clothes, some straw, a burlap sack... They made the Scarecrow." She said sadly, staring at the black figure in the near distance.
"What happened to them?"
Quinzell sighed heavily.
"One night a prisoner escaped, totally unstable, a murderer, a lifer. There was no way for him to be rehabilitated. He, broke out of his cell, I don't know how, it was before my time but... Well he broke out and came down to the field he... he found the children here playing with the Scarecrow."
Crane stood up slowly, knowing already how the story ended and walked the few yards to the middle of the field where the old, tattered Scarecrow stood. He felt the young nurse come up behind him.
"They left it here as a memorial. The father, went insane with grief, ended up inside here. Irony huh?"
She said almost letting out half a chuckle from the obsurdity of it.
"You knew him."
She said suddenly, causing Crane to turn and look at her with a quizical look. "The father, you treated him he was, ah, he was the suicide case. He died early this morning."
Crane turned back to the Scarecrow, processing the information. He looked into its makeshift burlap face it was so innocent looking yet it's inanimate eyes had seen so much horror, Crane could almost see a terrified expression etched into it's sack face.
"I'd better get back, It was nice to meet you anyway."
She said sadly, slowly turning away as Crane waved her off.
.Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype?: Yep
So yeah that wasn't my LAST Crane post before I left but probably my favourite.
Approved :up:
So Hush is pretty much denied?
I wouldn't say that. Since it's a bat-villain, I'll defer to MB on it seeing as how he's the caped crusader himself.
Cheers Byrd. I'll get around to posting probably tomorrow once I've caught up with a few things.
I have no problem with this. After all, we have multiple PC cops, so it'd be hypocrisy for me to deny you because of being a doctor. My only issue is the spacing of your quotations and dialogue, which is a pretty minor issue that can be easily solved.
So barring that, you're approved. :up:
We should just go head and change the title of this forum to "Gotham City: Featuring other heroes."
It'd attract more people :o
<- Is a Marvel fanboy with no interest in anything other than Batman on the DC side of things.
What can I say? The people love me.
Well, that, or it's because I bribed the ever loving hell out of them.
As long as Hush doesn't don a metal helmet and fight crime under an alias in the format of "[add color here] Hood", it's fine by me. Just make sure we keep the inmates at arkham straight (me, you, and Gallagher) otherwise continuity will look like one of picasso's paintings. :up:
