Any ideas of what the next movie to break a billion will be???

My vote...Harry Potter 7.

Avatar...it's the only epic movie coming out soon that will stay in theaters long enough.

A very reasonable guess. Deathly Hallows, I mean.,

i wouldnt be surprised if Half Blood Prince hit a billion as well...i doubt it though...950, tops.

avatar isnt popular enough for a billion. come on.

Any other director, I'd agree...but with Cameron at the helm...who knows?

Deathly Hallows- possible.

Next HP film? Don't see that one happening.

well HP5 is on the verge of 900....

Deathly Hallows and Avatar possibly.

We won't get one next year, or this year.

Deathly Hallows, possibly.

Avatar, probably not...
Guess I need to look up those movies, because I have no idea what those movies are about.. Will a movie hit the billion dollar mark? Sure some day.

id be willing to bet on the deathly hallows

Avatar is the next James Cameron movie that's going to be in 3d. it should last quite a while in IMAX theaters...

...Deathly Hallows is the last Harry Potter book & flick.

looking at it, i dont see another movie even hitting 800 million until HP6, possibly Avatar..

why do people think Avatar will make a billion? not being rude, just curiosity, i honestly dont know much about Avatar, and not many 'common movie goers' do either...

and please....NOT because its a Cameron film...he has had 1 billion hit, dont count on it twice.

Avatar has no chance .... to hit numbers like that the movie needs to have MASSIVE appeal and needs to be of interest to all age groups ....

Titanic was a unique creation that could be enjoyed by anybody from 18 to 80 years of age. It somehow became a movie that HAD to be seen .... my father in-law had not been to the cinema for 38 years but went to see Titanic .... he has yet to go back again. Just a small example but it supports my point.

exactly. it wasnt because of Cameron.

Avatar has NO chance of a billion. and its current popularity with common movie goers, it makes 500 mil. tops.

Quoted for truth. And it wasn't even his best film that crossed the billion mark. T2 and Aliens are much more deserving.

My vote goes to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
