I think Disney is doing a movie called Moana or something like that.

The next Disney fairy tale movie is "Giants" and is supposedly based on Jack and the Bean Stock. It comes out in 2016.

The next princess one is "Moana." It is from the directors of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin (yay), and Hercules and Princess and the Frog (boo). It comes out in 2018. It is set in the South Pacific thousands of years ago.

However, after the success of Frozen, I would not be surprised if those timetables are sped up and more are announced.

When is the next Disney animated film? Besides the upcoming pixar films.

I think it'll be Moana. And I think 'Giants' will give the Princess more to do then being held captive.

It'll probably be:

Peach_(Super_Mario_3D_World).png

Because next thing you know, Disney will buy Nintendo. :o

In that vein of thinking, maybe Disney will buy out DC and we'll get Wonder Woman in the Official Disney Princess Line (Princess Diana of Themyscira).:woot:

That is actually a good idea. That way, Disney can create Marioland in their Disney Resorts. :oldrazz:

hey........I wouldn't be surprised if Disney makes a play for Nintendo........lol.

Nor would I and then we can get a legend of Zelda movie.

Thanks for the info DACrowe. I'll have to look those up

Just saw Moana and I'm dying to find out who will be the next Disney princess. I still think doing a fairy tale from India would be incredible. Her animal sidekick could be an elephant!

^ I was going to say didn't they have one recently... but I guess that, frog princess movie like 7 years now

Agree. And if she is lesbian, only a bonus. It's enough of having handsome prince saving a day.

The prince hasn't saved the day in a Disney movie in years.

Yeah and let's be honest, the next time we see a Disney prince save the day it will be for another prince not a princess. Can't wait for that day.

An African princess is long overdue.

That would be wonderful, there are so many wonderful African folk stories and the musical influences are already there.

See that's partly why I thought of India as the next setting for Disney because you can get A.R Rahman to help with the score as well as use well known personalities like aziz ansari as the animal sidekick and irfan khan etc the way Moana used Samoan/Hawaiian actors

Mexican. Set it during the Spanish/Aztec war/conquest and delve into the birth of a new race (Mestizos). The princess can be a Mestiza whose mother is Native and father is Spanish. Give her some talking animal friends (jaguar, eagle, axolotl), throw in some Mayan/Aztec mythology plus a quest and presto you have a hit ;)

The next Disney Princess will be Ivanka Trump. The heartwarming tale of a young woman making a name for herself while trying to dodge her would-be tyrant father's sexual advances.

Gay trans prince yearning for representation not taxation
Asexual princess born of Jewish faith with very "different"phobic parents

Just saw Moana this week, and I have to say I wish I went to see it sooner! What a great movie! Plenty of fun action and adventure and some great musical scores. I've been listening to them on youtube ever since. And I loved the ending, as in how Moana 'bested' Te Ka.
Disney has been doing pretty good with the last few movies and slightly unconventional endings. And I think that may be because they seem to be moving away from the strictly good/evil story lines.

For the next 'new' Disney Princess, the quote below sounds awesome! It would be rich with myths and legends and I can just imagine the lush imagery of Central America on a sweeping CG scale.

Of course, I would also like to see a sequel to Frozen and Tangled...:cwink:

I'm guessing you guys watch a lot of Elena of Avalor

I only heard of that title in the last day or so. Never saw it and the only reason I heard about it is from a co-worker who mentioned it when I was talking about a story I'm writing.

And I really can't even look into it, as she mentioned similarities that I don't want to compound.:cwink:
