This is bound to happen for the producers aren't complete morons so you can pretty much figure that Q and Moneypenny will surely come along in Bond 22nd and 23rd installments. So who is worthy to take up the role as Quarter Master. Some say he should be younger for its BOnds begining but i say who ever is the best actor for the job. So i thaought i would make a poll to see who Bond fans might want to play Q.
Do as always give me a moment to post the poll in question.

Preferably a British actor that isn't so well-known. Too many of these actors have signature characters that they're known for. Despite his best efforts, John Cleese was never going to be Q on the level of Desmond Llwellyn. He's too well-known, especially being known primarily for comedy.

I went with Bill Nighy. He's awesome. "I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes... Christmas is all around me..."

Great movie, Love Actually.

There are some really big names up there. I think Alan Rickman would make a great Q.

Bill Nighy, but honestly I don't want Q to appear in new Bond movies. He is unnecessary figure, and besides I prefer to see Bond without gadgets.

Blasphemy :cmad:

I hope they ask John Cleese back.... I just watched World is Not Enough, and I like him because he's different than the original Q, and he's funny. John Cleese=Da ****...

I know that he wasnt the only actor to play Q so [theoretically] someone else could take the role, but as a tribute to Desmond Llewelyn, I'd like to see them retire the character and come up with someone else.

In Dr.No, Peter Burton played Q, but was referred to as 'Major Boothroyd or the 'armourer'; they could have a character as the new 'armourer'; not specifically Q, and instead of referring to him as a codeword - refer to them by their Surname, as Major Boothroyd was referred to in Dr. No.

But please, please, not John Cleese or anyone who'd put a comedic spin on the character.

Cleese = God

No, he is actually God's substitute. When God goes on a fishing trip for the weekend Cleese takes his place.

True story.

But in all honestly, in this day and age, he certainly not the huge name where it detracts from him playing a bit part. Plus it does add much needed comic relief to Craig's Bond, without them throwing in ****ty jokes, that'll just get old after a while

It's the ****ty jokes that tainted it - - that's why I look to the way the character was handled in Dr.No and From Russia with Love.

I honetly don't see why the role has to be the comic relief. CR struck just the right balance/blend in tone, let's not introduce a character that could mess that all up.

Because it fits perfectly, Q=Kick Ass... The comic relief make sense and fits perfectly in a movie that's serious since it's not something stupid like Bond cracking one liners every 5 seconds...

In CR Bond didnt crack one liners every 5 seconds - but that was the point.

What humour they did have in the film was just enough for a franchise which is trying to distance itself the overly comedic Brosnan era - why would they want to repeat the same mistake again and have Q played for comic relief?

SUPERBENITEZ I AGREE100%:ninja:

I gotta say John Cleese, a lot of those names are too big for the Q role.

John Cleese.

He's perfect, and I loved him in TWINE and DAD.
