Guys I just got done watching The Impoossible and man now I'm rooting for Tom Holland to get it! He gave a very good performance, if your unsure about him I would go and rent that movie on Itunes because he has the acting chops to pull Spiderman off in my opinion.

Come on guys, you only need to watch one of their films to know that Tom and Asa can act circles around O'Brien.

Even in that interview for Enders Game Butterfield doesn't look like he is 12, I have no idea why some keep saying that. He looks like a teenager to me and he still looks like a teenager. He could easily play a 15-16 year old Peter Parker.

seriously, i have confidence in Sony when they cast spider-man actors, the execution is somewhat their problem...and Marvel (or in this case Kevin Feige) has that covered

At the same time they wont want to rush such a pivotal casting.

They won't want to procrastinate either. Taking time would mean doing screen tests earlier just to have leeway in case none of the "shortlist" candidates impress, something that has happened before. If you procrastinate, then you end up rushing, perhaps even more so than you would if you had cast the role earlier.
