Tye Sheridan

I know he doesn't have the 'tradition' PP look necessarily, but I like his personality and he's a good actor. And he's exactly the right age. He's good at playing sympathetic and vulnerable as well, a sort of underdog. Not sure about his humor unfortunately, but humor's a potential issue with everyone on the shortlist. And he may have any outright 'comedic' roles under his belt to the best of my knowledge, I could see him conveying the sly, kinda tongue in cheek humor

I feel like he has a very identifiable look (not just a generic teenager), and is someone who could play a PP/SM that you(I) could get behind and root for

It's either those two, or at least someone in that age range.

Cough, yes I've been informed. I acknowledged it on the last page. Sorry I don't know everything that's going on with every CBM. Still think he could make a good PP/SM regardless. My main point was that despite news about frontrunners and all that, I still think in general there are plenty of other actors out there who could do a good job and be a good(better) fit

Ok, what kind of hair should Peter Parker have? Classic hair like in the comics? Or a bouffant hairdo like Garfield? Or maybe slightly longer like the 90s animated Peter and the Nicholas Hammond version?

He should be given hair that fits this time period. Peter was probably given that hairstyle by Ditko because it was the 1960s and that was what was popular I guess at the time. Would be kind of weird now though.

I think whatever actor is picked should just stick with whatever hairstyle they naturally/usually have. I wouldn't try to make him look like the 1960 PP, and I wouldn't try to make his hairstyle look contemporary either. In my mind the latter immediately dates the movie/character as well. I would just let the actor look the way he normally looks in real life (granted he has a consistent hair style)

Tye Sheridan would have been a motor mouth with a southern accent. The question is if we want that or not.

Well, the motor mouth part is perfect. And people can change their accents... did you not know this, or really think he couldn't?

And yeah Lofland, his counterpart in Mud. Don't like him nearly as much as Sheridan, and doesn't posses any/most of the qualities Tye does that gave me reason to believe he could be good

Anyway, I don't wana argue about this, I'm not campaigning for Sheridan. I just wanted to throw a name/actor out there besides the ones that are dominating. If for no other reason than to suggest it doesn't HAVE to be Asa or Tom, no matter how likely they are

Holland gives me 0% "Peter Parker vibe" by the look. In fact, a role like Harry Osborn will suits him better.

Guys I just got done watching The Impoossible and man now I'm rooting for Tom Holland to get it! He gave a very good performance, if your unsure about him I would go and rent that movie on Itunes because he has the acting chops to pull Spiderman off in my opinion.

Well apparently he's fixed the mole on his chin, so that's not that distracting anymore. It's his mouth which is more distracting. It often looks like he's wearing braces in his mouth which is pushing his mouth forward.

Feige: Remember that fake ending to Age of Ultron when Spidey says "you missed a spot"? Well, we don't want audiences thinking it's the spot calling the kettle black.

Holland: But Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford had moles.

That is the huge concern with him. He delivers it in a very dry, reserved and monotonous manner which is completely incongruous with the motor mouth, energetic quipper that is required for Spider-Man.

I think Holland has a better Spider-Man voice and sounds like he has more life when speaking.
