This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]493471[/split]
Not trying to knock Dylan O'Brien, but I've never seen anything he's been in and never heard of him until people started fancasting him for this role.
Can anyone recommend something he's in?
and Peter Parker is a pretty generic white guy with brown hair, theres a lot of actors who could play him in that sense.
So now you're calling this kid unattractive? That's even worse. Shallow much?
None that you're not happy to willfully ignore.
o'brien to me looks like peter parker. him being handsome also doesn't hurt thoHighmore is a pretty good looking guy and can be pull off nerd as well
Not saying O'Brien can't, he just strikes me as a pretty boy. This is just me making assumptions though, not treating it as fact.
The GoT-actor suggested is far below average and his popularity among girls wouldn't be believable in the slightest.
Yes that's exactly what I'm calling him. Peter being a believably attractive person is actually not unimportant. The GoT-actor suggested is far below average and his popularity among girls wouldn't be believable in the slightest. That would be more a nerd dream than reality. I'm not saying Peter Parker should be a young Johnny Depp in looks, but definitely above average.
Stay classy, internet.
I haven't seen too much of his work, and yes, I agree, he does more drama than anything, but I did see him in Gamer, and he did give off this vibe of the Spider-Man cockiness that we are looking for. I think he can do it, he's already got the experience down in spades, and has quite the following to boot, so why the hell not?
"Wouldn't want to watch a movie with a 15 year old as the lead"... So the quality of the actor has nothing to do with your demands, only the age. Good to know your priorities are in check! That's exactly what I'm saying. Not a good ENOUGH actor.
Pfft you're looking into that too much. I'm not annoyed by every 15 year old out there, but I certainly wouldn't want to watch a movie with a 15 year old actor as the main star.
Yes, capable of looking younger but not looking 15. I've said 17 plenty of times. By that time you look mature enough.
i don't know.
Looks matter regardless of what you think. That's reality.

So 17 is mature enough and 15 isn't. It's not relative to interpretation or anything right? Every single Spider-Man fan believes 17 is the cutoff for their Spider-Man to be considered "mature". A 15 year old Spider-Man can't be mature for his age. Sorry, it's just really funny what you're demanding for this cast.
Thank God you're not in charge. We'd end up with some very pretty but superficial cast with minimal talent. That'll put butts in seats.![]()
It's simple. You have people who are tired of Peter Parker.
I've watched all the seasons of Teen Wolf and he's definitely the best thing about it, that's why he's my ideal choice to play Peter.
but you can't be tired of peter parker in the mcu because that hasn't even happened yet.
i don't wanna start watching that but i just might start glimpsing coz of him. and at the end i'll feel like it was pointless if he doesn't get the role.
i'm inclined to believe this is true. hasn't he had a tiny comic book history compared to peter parker's comic book legacy? The majority of the people who want Morales right off the bat probably have never picked up a comic book in their entire lives
Not from what you're saying. By your logic you'd give the part to a less qualified 17 or 18 year old over a 15 or 16 year old just because of the two year gap. And how do you know there isn't a 15 year old out there not qualified to put a franchise on his back? Grint was born in 88', Radcliffe was born in 89', Watson was born in 90' and the first movie came out in 01'. Do the math. The quality of the actor has much to do with it. There's simply no 15-year old out there that's been suggested by fans who has the chops to be Spider-Man. Neither in acting nor in looks.
The difference between a 15 year old and a 17 year old can be bigger than you'd think when it comes to how mature they look. I don't want the main star to look like he's in his puberty like a certain GoT actor. A 15 year old can be mature in behavior but less likely in his looks. It's easier for a 19-20 year old to play a 17 year old teenager than to play a 15 year old one.
