Don't even get me started on Batman fans. He's an amazing hero and I love his comics and films. But some of his fans seem to think he's God.

But this isn't a topic to complain about the fans. Let's talk style? What fashion do we want our next Peter Parker wearing. I'd actually like to see him come to school in uniform while everyone else is wearing regular clothing. Make him seem like more of a nerdy, follow the rules type kid.

I actually like that idea. It would be an improvement from the hipster Andrew Garfield riding into class on his skateboard with a beanie and skinny jeans. XD If we could actually get a good peter who was also a witty spiderman, that would be great.

Ikr? Him having a skateboard: Ok... maybe for pizza delivery or something? Still a bit too cool for Parker. But for him to ride it into school like he owns the school? Not Peter.

Dude, there's a grand canyon of differences between a troll on a message board telling lies and what the movie press is saying. They aren't my "favorite sources", I don't possess them neither I cherish them, they are sources. Proven sources. Period.

I can't believe that some people here are so hellbent childish that they believe that what dony said was anything but trolling, and at the same time try to make a connection between that and what MOVIE NEWS REPORTS are saying. All these sources that you are dismissing break news everyday. Today they broke more casting members for Suicide Squad. The same thing happened yesterday. They broke the news about actors reps changing agencies. That's their work.

And still, some dismiss them using the argument that "cousin Shawn actually lines up with your favorite sources". Seriously people, you can do better than that.

But yeah, I believe Marvel are going for an actual teen.. too many sources are saying the same thing.

You're the only one around here that I see holding El Mayimbe, Jeff Sneider, and whoever else to such a high standard that you won't even entertain the idea that MAYBE they MIGHT BE wrong! (Which HAS happened.)

I'm aware of all the Suicide Squad info they've dropped, and that's great. But like it's been noted plenty of times, their sources seem to be stronger on DC's side than on Marvel's. This is absolutely plausible. They're not going to have inside sources on every movie being made in every studio.

I'm not ashamed to say that I'd LOVE Dylan O'Brien in the role. But I'm not being a child about it. Maybe Marvel is really going to stick with this high school plan, and maybe they're really going to cast a teenager. BUT MAYBE THEY WON'T. Like Quesada said, they MUST get Peter Parker right. If they ultimately find that a 20-something actor is right, that's who they're going to pick, regardless of what they were thinking originally.

Considering the inconsistency with developing poopy scoops, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if they came back and stated that Marvel were ultimately unimpressed with the crop of actual teenagers and are looking at actors in their early 20s.

I don't even understand the reasoning for this thinking. It's not like RDJ hasn't worked with "kids" before. His last two movies he had a lot of scenes with kids.

I think they'd be fine with it, they're professionals. What Sony/Marvel has to assess is whether that teenager can hold his own against them and carry his solo movies along with all the attendant PR requirements.

I don't know, I don't think so. And why I'm saying that? This is still a Sony's movie. They will probably get someone that won't get starstruck with the actors, someone that has proved that can act next to big actors like RDJ, Evans and the gang.

But Civil War and the Avengers movies are not Sony movies. And Civil War is coming first.

So Sony casts the person mainly for the purpose of the solo Spidey, but they don't test how well he interacts with other Avengers. What happens the day he gets on set with other Avengers and they realize he doesn't fit amongst them at all?

A very common part of the audition process isn't just your line readings. They need to test your chemistry with other actors.
