I wish they had announced Dylan a month ago so we wouldn't have to put up with this April Fools nonsense.

I wonder how much of the day is going to be fuelled with this? :hmm

It's official:

I told people it would never happen, but I guess I was wrong!
I hope he does well. :/
(That's Daniel Radcliffe a.k.a. Harry Potter)

See, Radcliffe just looks weird as an adult. Imagine if they had cast him as Peter when he was a teenager, and we had to be stuck with him in the MCU and watch him grow up to look like he does now, and shorter than everyone else.

This is why it's a double-edged sword casting a young teenager in the role and why I prefer someone who is older.

Older you say? How about 23 turning 24 August 26th? :spidey:

Ahh, I get what you're saying. At first I thought you were making an argument that casting someone who looks younger than their age but is really older, won't work because they will grow up to have facial hair, while still being 5 years shorter.
Then I was confused why you said you prefered older...

I think if we cast young we can't really predict whether someone will grow or not. I agree, but I do think that when a younger peter grows old enough to be the older peter, but he doesn't grow as tall, Marvel/Sony could just replace him like they will likely have to do with other heroes. In that amount of time (from 15-25) I imagine that a 23 year old cast as spider-man will be 33, probably too old to keep playing spiderman too. So they would both probably last about the same length as spider-man, but the older would work better with the other Avengers. (imo) Unless they cast someone who won't grow from a kid to a small adult, then they could theoretically keep him longer, but I don't think they will be able to keep someone for that long honestly.

I made a promise two months ago that I wouldn't show my lists anymore.. but this will be the LAST time.

Current list:
1. Teo Halm/Dylan O'Brien
2. Charlie Rowe
3. Mateus Ward
4. Asa Buttermilk
Where is Riggs?
Did you drop Isaac now too? :csad:

Better, my vote now is for Thomas Sangster for Peter. He's a adult, like everyone wants (and older than Dylan), but he still looks a teen. He doesn't age, no problem with sequels. Perfect.

It's a secret wish of mine (don't tell anyone), even if I favour Lerman

He doesn't seem like Peter or Spider-Man to me... I haven't really seen enough of his acting though. Maybe he can pull of that type of personality?

He's good. He played Paul McCartney to Aaron Taylor Johnson's John Lennon in Nowhere Boy, for any Beatles fans out there. That's where I first saw him.

I was expecting boat loads of spidey pranks. But so far only seen like 2.

Also be it young or slightly older I expect who ever is picked to at least do 2 and a half phases before being replaced. That would give you at least 8 to 12 films which is a good run. Heck look at high as wolverine.

If the rise in Dylans twitter followers since he was announced as a top candidate for Spider-Man is any indication, I'd say it's safe to assume there are a couple hundred people out there who want him as Spider-Man.

Thomas Sangster never ages, so he could still be Spider-Man in his 30s and be believable as a college student.
