It's best that they go with the best actor for the role, whether he's 17 or 24.

Thank you. Why does everyone just completely look past this?

I think pretty much everyone can agree with this statement. We just keep getting stuck in the same loop of he said/she said outta boredom and lack of of info

Expected at this point.

Yep

Because they get caught up in unconfirmed rumors that Marvel has other ideas.

And because people become entrenched in their positions and preferences that the idea of picking the best actor regardless of age goes out the window.

Yeah... because we haven't gotten any more funny 'leaks' from L-Review we have been repeating ourselves over and over and agreeing with each other on everything except for who the best actor is. I mean, someone could suggest another actor and we could break the loop...

All actors, regardless of age can be are vulnerable to the vices of Hollywood.

For every Lindsey Lohan there's a Natalie Portman ,Jodie Foster, Ron Howard, Fred Savage, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Neil Patrick Harris, and Ryan Gosling to name a few.

The potential vices of Hollywood isn't a strong enough reason to reject a teen actor who's a good actor and can pull off the role well.

If its between a good 25 year old and a bad 17 year old, you'll wanna go with the older actor, but the potential pitfalls of a young actor getting fame isn't enough to pass over one who's more then qualified for the role.

If that's the standard, then no actor can get hired because regardless of age, they're gonna be tempted by hangers on, drugs, groupies, pride, vanity, and all the other sins Southern California has to offer.

I would also add Elijah Wood, Daniel Radcliffe, and Christian Bale to the list of one time child and teen actors.

You know who'd make a good Spider-Man? Jim Parsons.

That Sangster kid looks nothing like Peter Parker, more like a Harry creepy Osborn.

Why is it some people here dont understand it would be okay to cast someone that can both ACT AND LOOK LIKE Peter Parker. Its not really impossible.

I wish more people did... some people are claiming that certain actors are 'more qualified' to play spiderman, just because they played in some popular movies and won awards. When in reality they look nothing like peter/sm, and act even less like him.
What you you mean "act less than him"? You refer to how the actor is in private life? What does that have to do with anything?
Ever heard about acting?

I'm with you on this one. An actor doesn't necessarily have to act like his role in real life. There's something we call 'range' of an actor. But i do believe that there's also suitability for the roles, in which casting directors are responsible for. But suitability range from age, ethnicity, skill, certain vibe, etc and we really don't know what criteria they are looking.

Exactly.

Perhaps not real life, but maybe we should address the issue as to whether the actor in question *can* act like Peter in a movie. Hence the word suitability.

The thing is that in real life, most of the MCU actors are similar to their characters and seem to even have to play the part offscreen because it's almost a permanent role. Imagine having an actor who is the polar opposite of Spider-Man in everything he does in real life. Also, he will have to keep thinking to ensure he's always in character or coming across humorously enough instead of it just coming more naturally.

So RDJ is getting the MTV Generation Award at the MTV Movie Awards. Dylan O'Brien is nominated is nominated for four MTV awards: Hero, Breakthrough, Fight, and Scared. So we know who shall be there. :cwink:
