The upcoming thriller The Night Clerk has expanded its cast and signed on Academy-Award-winner Helen Hunt (Cast Away, Mad About You), Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049, War Dogs) and Golden Globe nominee John Leguizamo (John Wick Chapter 2, Waco), joining Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One, X-Men: Apocalypse) after he signed on in February.

Hotel night clerk Bart Bromley (Sheridan), a highly intelligent young man on the Autism spectrum, uses secret surveillance cameras to record guests in an effort to improve his social interaction skills. When a woman is murdered during his shift, Bart becomes the prime suspect but can’t reveal that his illegal cameras captured evidence that would prove his innocence. As the police investigation closes in, Bart makes a personal connection with a beautiful guest named Andrea, but soon realizes he must stop the real murderer before she becomes the next victim.

The Night Clerk is written and directed by Michael Cristofer, well-known for winning a Tony for Best Play for The Shadow Box in 1977 as well as directing Gia and Original Sin.
I like the premise and I've been looking forward to seeing Ana de Armas in another role since Blade Runner 2049.

Sounds promising - although if I was the prime suspect in a homicide I think I'd sooner take whatever rap for the illegal cameras and avoid the death penalty/life imprisonment for the murder!

Like the premise and the cast, but hoped it would be less lower tier/VODish than the trailer suggests.

P.S.: Helen Hunt looks like she walked straight out of Escape from L.A.

I was surprised by that as well.
