Still, you got the feeling in the show that Superman would be dead if he was hit too many times. The audience is meant to believe that Darkseid is about to blast him dead right before Supes grabbed his eyes and made the beams backfire into Darkseid's face.

But that's not what Omega beams are supposed to do. They should be the Enterprise's teleport, not the phasers.

That's the Omega Effect though isn't it? At least that is how I differentiate between them.

Well, they should actually be whatever Darkseid wants them to be, really. The Omega Force is the manipulation energy and matter, after all. They could be Turn-Superman-Into-The-Easter-Bunny-Beams if Great Darkseid is in the mood for comedy.

It used to be the case that writers would give some in-story reason for why Darkseid would just use the Omega Beams as heat blasts or lasers (like his fight with Doomsday where he specifically says that he wants to fry the monster and keep as a monument in molten rock, never using the actual Omega Effect), and I kinda got the feeling in STAS that he was just doing it to prolong Clark's pain before finishing him off, and I was fine with that.

But then, over the years, it just sort of became more and more the norm for him to do that, until you start finding cases where he would explicitly intend to kill someone (often Superman), and all the beams would do is cause pain. That's when I start calling bulls**t.

That's sort of how I look at the Omega Force. He has the Omega Effect which displaces matter in spacetime, the Omega Beam which is essentially a concussive blast and the Omega Sanction which is a series of tortures.

This may be a stupid question but who was faster Superman Blue or The Flash? I'm just wondering considering it was said he can move faster then the speed of light when he was Superman Blue. Also was pre-crisis Superman faster then the Flash. I mean if you think about it the Flash needed a treadmill to travel through time. Pre-Crisis Superman just needed to fly real quick to do that.

Good lord. Superman Blue? I don't know man. Probably still the Flash. Whereas Superman Blue was energy blah blah blah, The Flash still has the Speed Force, and that's one plot device not easily beaten. Since the two were never shown racing, I'm going to chalk up the official winner as "Who gives a ****?"
It doesn't make any sort of sense for Pre-Crisis Superman to be able to fly backwards in time by flying fast so I'm ignoring it ever happening and still going with the Flash.

Well once again it has been hinted at (before the return of Barry) that Superman might have been able to tap into the speed force if he tried.

Only thing I can think of is when Flash and Zoom fought all over the world so fast, nobody could barely comprehend what was going on except Supes, but he was too slow to help out. And even then that could be attributed to his super senses and not have anything to do with the Speed Force. :o

It was hinted at during the Wally West era or more suggested that he might have been able to tap into it if pushed. I don't remember when I think during the JLA run or sometime around there.

I think DC should just let The Flash be faster than Superman. Its The Flash niche

Yea man, the Flash should be the fastest. Supes isn't exactly a slouch anyway. It's funny when i mention to people that Wally West was the most powerful member of the JLA and some people act like he's one of the least poweful. Same with J'onn. I'd put him above Supes, seeing as he basically is Supes but with powerful TP, intangibility etc.

I remember being part of an RPG once where Superman and Zoom (Hunter) fought, and there was pretty much nothing that Supes could do to harm Zoom, or even mount any sort of defense. F**cker was just too fast. I imagine you could say something similar with the Flash if he really went all out with his powers.

Flash knocked Superman the **** out one time. F=MA mother ****ers. Superman has no way around that. The Flash does b/c somehow the Speed Force keeps his hand from shattering when punching something at that speed.

Has anyone read Batman: Faces by Matt Wagner, is it any good? And has Wagner done any Superman stories?

Does Trinity count?

That was Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Yes it was and I already have it. I just finished Batman and the Monster Men and I absolutely loved it, already planning on picking up Mad Monk. I saw he did Faces and some Riddler thing and I'm interested in those. Since I love his art and writing style and I've always had a moderate interest in Supes I was just wondering if he's done anything with him, beside Trinity of course.

Does Batman have any covert, under cover, spy, Chameleon type enemies?
Besides Clayface, can any of his other enemies alter their appearance to hide?
