I'm not exactly sure, but he has shown up once or twice since. Just not hosted. It's ABOUT TIME. Adam is the one former cast member I really still want to see do this.It might have something to do with the fact that he was fired from the show back in the day, along with Chris Farley. But as I recall, he did appear on the 40th Anniversary special.
I remember the show stumbled a bit in the early 2000's after Will Ferrell left. The saving graces were really Fey, Poehler and Rudolph. Once Wiig, Sudeikis, Hader and Samberg joined in the mid-2000's, it found its footing again.Watching the Netflix movie "Wine Country" got me thinking:
- The women of SNL in the early 2000's were all pretty good with Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachael Dratch and Ana Gasteyer.
But that cast from the 2000's itself was pretty good. Besides those ladies, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Will Forte and Andy Samberg. Also Kristin Wiig

I didn't fall in love with "Lazy Sunday" like everyone else seemed to, but "D*ck in a Box" made me a fan.Honestly, I didn't care for Samberg until Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
It's never a good idea to have just one black chick on a comedy sketch show. Need at least two to cover all the bases of light and dark skinned impressions.
