This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]399699[/split]
Since there doesn't seem to be one of these here, I figured we'd break it in
To start, we got an artist's sketch of the test footage, he was at comic con, and sketched a storyboard of what he saw. Looks Cool
And with this, Ant-Man is set for a November 6, 2015 release
yes, and we still haven't seen that sort of genre in the MCU
The length of time I'm not so much worried about. I was referencing the defining aspect of his character. It shouldn't be the same as Cap's. Hank should have his own internal aspect to wrestle with.
and what I obviously failed to imply was that being out of time just a couple years or a decade or two is nowhere near as defining for that character than 70 years. one can very easily adapt to that and move on, therefore this character would have other traits, other conflicts that define him. and with Hank, I mean, he has so many problems. being stuck in the microverse since, let's say, the late 90ies is probably his smallest problem.
And I guess what I failed to imply was that I'd be okay with that. Having time displacement isn't my problem. Focusing on it is.
then we agree
And what I want to imply is that he may not be out of the loop while in the microverse. He may be in the know the whole time while not being able to interact with us.
There's a lot of implying going on in this brand new thread
What are you implying?
one of the coolest things about the Captain America character is that every year he goes on, he more and more truly becomes a 'man out of time.'
cuz when he originally joined Avengers, he had only been frozen for about 20 years. not even that I think. 20 years? and he's the 'man out of time'?
but then now it's almost 70 years and that really fits the isolation we always associate with Cap and the modern world.
But then just imagine when he's been frozen for 100 years...how truly out of time he will be. It's really a cool thing built into the character.
Ant-man has the potential to really be something different.
I'm enjoying Pym's appearances in Daredevil.
...that's the first post from the first thread when I made it, I made that post almost a year ago lol
Yeah I know, that happens every time a thread hops onto a new part. Just poking fun at you. I know you couldn't help that, which is why I did it.
I just realized this basically has the same spot as Guardians of the Galaxy now. I guess Marvel likes that first weekend of August slot.
The obvious reason for pushing up the date is to avoid Bond 24, and a lesser reason might have been Marvel's comfort level with the late-July/early-August slot, but is there an outside chance that they're planning to sneak a third Marvel Studios movie into 2015... possibly December? Long long shot I know, but good god, fingers crossed.
Bond 23 was huge, so I'm sure Marvel want to avoid that. It's not like there's a Bond film every year, so the anticipation would build far more from the general public than for another Marvel movie.
Yeah, I know, I'm just saying it's interesting they moved it to the same spot as Guardians. It looks like they some spots staked out that they like: first weekend of May, first weekend of August, and first weekend of November.
And I don't think they will. They already have movies planned for 2016.
So how do you guys think what we saw in Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD effects Ant-Man?
If Edgar is still going with Pym being Ant-Man of the 1960's then
He must not of been a hero well known by the public or his exploits were covered up the SHIELD of the 60's given the general public are only just now finding out that real superheroes exist in the world.
wouldn't that effect Captain America?
So is pre-production starting in October? It's nearly that time. We should be hearing some casting news within the next few weeks perhaps?
