I don't get why they would release the trailer before Captain America comes out. Seems like they would wait a few days after(much like TDKR's trailer came out three days after Potter) Captain America's release.

edit: But I'm not complaining when it comes out.

Did anyone else really like the music in this trailer? The beginning was pretty dark/mysterious/strange, and the tune at the end was pretty darn heroic. I'm guessing this was 'trailer' music, but would be cool as part of the main score.

Also, it's hard to tell but
I wonder if the shot of him sitting down-back to us-is him sitting in webs? Remember Poni-Boy mentioned something about that.

Yeah, I dig all the music in the teaser. I especially like the thumping beats when he's running up the walls in the alleyway. So cool.

I really hope the next Spidey game plays like Mirror's Edge after seeing this teaser. In fact, I need to hunt down that game again and just pretend I'm Spider-Man now. Haha. Yes.

I'm fairly certain the first Spider-Man movie game had a first person option, which you could turn on or off.

Edit: It was a cheat code actually. Here's a clip.

That is a good question, why couldn't this have made the potter movie, especially since I saw that movie in IMAX 3D but seeing cap in regular theatres

Never knew that. Mix that gameplay with Mirror's Edge style parkour, :wow:.

The track in the teaser made me hopeful about the score

A projectionist on another site who has the trailer along with cap has said the low quality bootleg doesn't do the POV Justice, on the big screen in 3D it is MIND BLOWING. I.e 'YOU' are spider-man jumping and swinging in the big city

I'll say this.......I still think Avatar is the best 3D film made to date (for obvious CGI reasons), and there were many great moments in that film when things would POP out at you. BUT one of the great moments is when Sam is running and he jumps off the cliff into the waterfall. Honestly, I do have a fear of heights, so not only could I never be a superhero (sigh :( ) but watching that specific moment made me gasp. I felt like I had just fallen over the cliff in real life!

THAT'S what I want to see and feel when watching Spider-Man.

When I saw the POV this morning. I hated it, but I knew that if it shows in 3D. I think it WILL be mind blowing.

After read your post. I remember when Spidey jumped off the cliff into the waterfall. I felt like that I was falling too ( never thought that one before). So cool! Now I CANT wait for Cap movie so that I can see POV in 3D. :woot:

We don't know that.

I think this film will make First Class numbers. Is that bad?

It will make much more, this is Spider-Man.

Also depending on the budget for this, which I don't know that would be bad.

First Class had a budget about 160 and only made 143 domestically(might get to 146 before leaving theaters) but it had a real strong international run which saved it and had it make some money.

You can't underestimate the popularity of Spider-Man.

Exactly, because Peter had some brooding moments in a darkly lit, bootleg, version of a TEASER trailer seemingly designed to erase the campy perceptions of Spider-Man 3 from the audience's mind, he will be brooding the whole film. I'm sure in the set-video where he has his hands up to the police, says something, and dodges, I'm sure Spider-Man is just saying something very macabre and Twilight-y because Garfield has "R-Pat" hair. I mean joking with the police? That's not very brooding.

You're right, I'm positive that's how he will be portrayed. Also, I think The Dark Knight Rises will just be about Bruce deciding whether to be Batman or not and visiting people in hospitals. NEXT SUMMER WILL BE AWESOME!

Mmmhmmm. The trailer sold a tone. The tone has more in common with recent popular blockbusters than Spidey comics. I point that out and some fans flip their ****. Again, trailers can be misleading (look at Spider-Man 3), but I have a sneaking hunch that Sony is trying to tweak a new formula. If it happens to be wrong, good. If it happens to be right, that doesn't mean the movie is something awful. I'm just going off what Sony is trying to convey to the audience--not what people on the Internet imagine leaked set photos mean.

I'll put it this way--when Sony released it's teaser for Casino Royale nobody was expecting this Bond to be making tons of cheeky jokes and smirking at gadgets from the trailer. The trailer promised "half thug" and "blunt instrument." It wasn't lying, even though there was still humor in the movie.

P.S. Nice catch on the Edward Cullen hair. :oldrazz: Very astute.

Oh and yes, the trailer? Better than I expected, POV's is going to look ridiculously good in HD, can't wait.
