As long as it makes enough for a sequel, that will do me.
Origin out the way, characters established, tone established, they can then do their 'wrath of khan/ESB/SM2/X2/TDK'

I think this tone could set the stage for a great KLH film, albeit with the Lizard in the first movie, it might make things awkward.

Ok I went back about 7 pages, and I am the only one that absolutly hates the POV thing? I really liked the teaser (I really want to see it in HD). That kind of blury crappy looking video made me excited for a movie I really didn't give a **** about. But that POV scene almost ruined it. Am I the only one that thinks the idea of it is ******ed and needs to just stay in video games and not go anywhere else?

Maybe its because I will absolutly NOT see this in stupid 3d. Maybe its because I'm not some huge spider-man fan. But I do hope that they made that specifically for the trailer and it will not show up in the actual movie.

but other than that, this movie looks ****ing awesome. Looks like it could blow Raimi's piles of **** out of the water.

Would actually like to see a mysterio movie in a dark setting. With mysterio's ability to can perception the possibilities are endless. You could actually have a multitude of villains who are actually automatons or you could place Spidey in any time past, present or future.

It's your dime but you've absolutely got to see this movie in 3D. This is post converted ****. See this in the manner the film makers intended you to see this. Like avatar, this NEEDS to be seen in 3D.

I absolutely agree! I would also love to see Mysterio :awesome: but as much as I'd like to see all these villains that haven't yet been on the big screen, they gotta step aside for GG and possibly Venom. Well, I think that Venom is definitely unnecessary to do again, but I really want to see GG done right

Convinced venom or rather the symbiote is going to be set up in the movie. I think gwen or conners will briefly show Peter the cancer suit (venom in the ultimate universe). The venom will further be built up in the sequel with the main villain being goblin (with his suit done right this time), venom to close out the trilogy.

Just noticed Peter has a "Rear Window" poster in his room. Nice nod to Hitchcock from Webb.

I can barely justify spending $10 on a movie that I won't be able to keep (except in my MIND!) so $15-17 is out of the question. Especially when I am not impressed by it. Avatar 3D is the only movie I have ever fell asleep in. And the only reason I saw Avatar at all is because my stupid friend dragged me to it and payed for my ticket. But this isn't the 3D/Avatar bashing thread. Its the Amazing Spider-Man movie thread. And the Amazing Spider-Man looks good (except the POV garbage).

This is post converted ****.
Also, this made me laugh.

Isn't! ISN'T!! :funny:

please tell me where I can download this teaser trailer?
any file available on mediafire? is it in HD?

From my videos folder, inside my computer; but I highly doubt I'm allowed to send it. I'm keeping this trailer :woot:

EDIT: Also, it's not in HD... yet.

That's exactly what I had in mind! And what if Spidey gets the symbiote already at the end of the second film as a cliffhanger? In the case that the Green Goblin would be the villain of the second film and he killed Gwen, it would make sense if the symbiote would bond with Peter then since he would be totally crushed and angry, what do you think? That would also give way more time for character development in the third film.

The people who are thinking this will be too dark and brooding... I don't think it will be.

The film has probably still got quite a way to go in terms of effects so far they were only able to show dramatic scenes, i.e, not action scenes.

I'm frankly glad there's a change in tone. I think the Raimi series did well at setting a fun comic book vibe/ feel to all 3 movies but I think this will be a little darker, realistic and serious.

The only thing I very much hope is that Peter is still an easy going good guy he's always been. I'd HATE if they turned him into Batman or Edward Cullen part 2.

I get he might come across a bit emo in the 'drama' bits but I bet when you see more of Peter himself he'll be the same old Peter everyone knows. :cwink:

True, while watching Andrew as Peter and noticing the first hints of how the character is written, I can say that this may be one of the best reincarnations of him on the screen.

True, it's why setting a more serious/focused/non-juvenile tone is better for the franchise creatively. Now, I can actually see them doing Green Goblin/Death of Gwen Stacy, Kraven's Last Hunt and the Alien Costume/Venom saga. Like I said, I'm glad we never got The Lizard in the previous films, the tone simply wouldn't have worked.

A really good direction to take the sequel is after Peter has gained the trust of captain stacy. Spidey takes on the symbiote and goes on a crime spree, captain stacy is devestated as his trust is broken, Spidey loses the symbiote but not before he kills captain stacy, this is witnessed by gwen so you have the dynamic of the girlfriend to loves peter but HATES Spidey.

Agreed. And they tried to make Spider-man 3 a dark film but they handled it so poorly and felt akward after two films of a totally different feel. That's one of the main reasons that I most of the time don't even consider the series as a trilogy, I wish I could just forget that the third one ever happened

Mysterio has always been a unique and fantastic Villain, IMO.

Don't know where the music is from but it fits so well in the trailer.

The "Not much to tell" line is great too. As is the final line in the trailer as well.

I saw his work with GL and X-Men, but his trailer was wrong description was wrong (We're assuming it's the Comic Con one) and he said there would be a poster 2 weeks ago.

I still trust him, but it's been shaky lately.

I still have no faith in his words. Since the poster thing nothing he ever predicted has ever come true. And, how can the guy, working for an average web site, get to see the CCon footage before anybody else? He also claimed there was no POV scene and then, after the leak, contradicted himself by stating there was, but in the middle. Huh?

I wish so many people didn't think like this. Avatar isn't a great film, but it is absolutely no less 'immersive' in 2D.

At best Spidey's 3D will be good for a couple of action scenes and then annoying and pointless for everything else. Yup, 3D is still a gimmick.

Whether Avatar was in 3D or not, it wouldn't change my opinion on the film. I just did not like Avatar.
