Though, it won't be up until 3:00 AM, so I'm not sure if I should stay up or go to bed later tonight, lol.

There was a person here that last day actually made me believe that this can be something beyond the raimi films, that this can become the feel good movie of the year, and i must say that to make a masterpiece of a spider-man movie that's the way to go

That's exactly what I had in mind! And what if Spidey gets the symbiote already at the end of the second film as a cliffhanger? In the case that the Green Goblin would be the villain of the second film and he killed Gwen, it would make sense if the symbiote would bond with Peter then since he would be totally crushed and angry, what do you think? That would also give way more time for character development in the third film.

I'd really like Symbiote Spider-man and Green Goblin in one film along with Stacy's death and followed by Venom in another sequel. Yet, we've already seen Symbiote Spider-man, Green Goblin, bridge scene and Venom. I know this time things will be done differently anyway, but it leaves many other prominent villains from Spider-man's rouge gallery left out.

I assume it would be best to use Mysterio and Kraven in the sequel, especially considering Spider-man beocming more known to people and James finally making his appearance along with Mysterio as a main villain. Both will seriously damage Spider-man's reputation even before people will think of him as a good guy.

As for the third film, I'd definetely love to see either Green Goblin or Venom done in a better way than in Raimi's. I actually assume there's a possibility Norman would become Venom instead of Green Goblin. That would piss off a lot of fans, but it would draw a very interesting line, successfully combining two villains in one and skipping the problem of repeating the story.

I think Green Goblin and Gwen Stacy's death should mark the end of a trilogy by being in movie 3, if she died in spidey 2 it would kind of seem too much like The Dark Knight Rachel's death

I think SM2 'IS' a masterpiece of a spider-man movie but that's just my opinion. if this movie is better than SM2 then you are talking pushing TDK for the best superhero movie ever as TDK is the only superhero movie I rate higher.

gwen should die in the sequel and to close out the movie so the cinema goes out on a high rather than a depressing low you introduce the classic 'face it tiger, you hit the jackpot'

Raimi's trilogy is still my favorite comic book trilogy of all time, tbh. Hopefully, this can be on the same level.

That would be great, if you ask me. A depressing ending wouldn't be the way to go.

I was hoping Mary Jane was introduced in the 2nd film, then she wouldn't sudenly appear only after Gwen dies

I get what you mean, and it might work well in a comic, but if Pete loses his love and then in a scene or two he's already got another possible romance on the cards, he'll just seem like a cold-hearted d***. That needs to be in a seperate film, and he should still look back at Gwen and be unsure about his future even then. I agree though that you shouldn't just end it with her death, but there would have to be another way to lighten it up and show some hope.

Norman as Venom? That would be horrible, IMO.

I agree with SH12, I don't really see how that could work, would just confuse the GA who are probably similar with name due to SM1, though I don't think they'd mind it as much as the fans would. The fans should be thought of too, not in a way 'oh we should listen to them, they know what they're talking about', but in a 'these guys love the character, so lets give something back to them' sort of way. I think turning Norman as Venom would just be wrong in so many ways, and more importantly, when you do something like that you virtually scrap who the character is in the first place.

However, I also don't think they'll retread ground that soon, if we see the Goblin at all in this trilogy I very much doubt it'll be until the third. I think they'll use villains that havn't yet seen the big-screen for the second one.

Tess, did you watch the trailer? Did you like it? Last I saw of you, you wern't sure if you wanted to watch it or not.

Mary Jane should be introduced by movie 2, in the end if Gwen dies she would be trying to confort him, Movie 3 should be more of a feel good movie with Peter begining to move on from Gwen's death, if he and Mary begins a romance i don't know but who knows?
Then Movie 4 comes and it's ONE MORE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was talking of Norman-Venom as a part an assumption of what alternatives they may have for sequels. As for romance, I personally think it would be better to leave Peter alone with an ambiguous ending. Gwen is dead and he won't change to another person so easily, as he's gone through a lot with her. He may get closer to MJ with hints of possible relationship, but not to the point, at which he completely moves on Gwen. Thus, leaving him single in the end should work. Besides, in comics Peter is no more with MJ and I don't really want to see Cooper in films.

It's a crappy alternative, IMO. What would be the reasoning, anyway? Norman IS the Green Goblin whether he's in the suit or not. That personality he has, the inner vversion of himself is the Goblin.

But he could have three mouths and unlimited pumpkin bombs!!

Didn't you read my previous post?

I just assumed they can go with that approach in order to efficiently combine both characters. I'm not supporting or defending that either. It's just a suggestion of how things may develop. There's neither right or wrong until the actual decision is made. Thus, we always have alternatives to make decision.

I see what you mean, but I doubt they would even want to go that route. If it means repeating a similar story, then so be it. Though, I think they will change the normal origin of the Green Goblin if he is in one of the sequels to make it different.

Just don't give them that idea, right? Be a good boy and delete your posts before someone sees.
