If dr. connors ends having murdered his parents i think i might have a brain hemmorage.

and I just want to add.........Emma Stone's Gwen is WAY hotter than Dunst's MJ!! :o

too bad that we know she has to die at some point........:csad:

indeed, I hope Gwen's death will be a major event in this new franchise and will have a major impact on Peter.

Lol I was just thinking that..a lot of it comes from just not wanting to see the movie though. SM12 mentioned the comparison of the 90s show vs spec spidey and on other spidey related sites, there was A LOT of trepidation toward spec spidey due to the animation, putting him in high school, feeling it'd be just as censored as the Fox show, etc. and even after the show became so critically acclaimed and got good ratings, they still lamed out and didn't want any parts of it because it was a change; it wasn't what they grew up with, meaning it wasn't their show. People become attached to things and it's hard to see anything past that, and that's normal and natural

Hero Worship: Why the Spider-Man reboot will be amazing

There's the link, bro.

I used to feel like that when I was a kid. Now, having grown up, I am open to any ideas and have a more optimistic outlook. So, I think this film is made for those that are looking forward to a new approach or have never been familiar with the character before.

Thanks for the link, I appreciate this

me too.

Dr. Connors needs to be a sympathetic figure.......

Osborn, otoh, I could buy him as having something to do with Peter's parents' deaths........

I hope he'll survive and keeps appearing in future Movies. He needs to be in Spidey's dept and occasionally help him with some genetic stuff.

That's a great article

what I find funny is, yesturday I put on FB the teaser was available online, and alot of my friends liked it, even though when I talk to them in person, they couldn't care less. lol looks like i have intrigued people after all :hehe:

you mean.......a villain that actually survives beyond one movie??!! :wow:

All I hope is that sequels will have villains unrelated to Peter both personally and in terms of having bonds prior to their transformations.

I'm getting sick of sympathetic villains and hopefuuly, with such league as Green Goblin (completely re-done this time), Kraven, Mysterio, Chameleon and Electro, the treatment of Spider-man's rougues will be entirely different.

Even Ditko, as I remember, never wanted Goblin to be revealed as someone peter could know. He always wanted an unknown person to be behind the mask.

BTW, the documentary about him was an awesome watch! I recommend it to any comic book fan

I hope for some B or C list villains too. I really want to see Shocker as a minor villain, maybe teaming up with someone.

I don't like the idea of Shocker being a minor Villain. I mean, he doesn't have to be a massive threat, but he was pretty much spit on in USM. Now, in the 616 comics, he was a pretty big threat at one point. A LOT bigger than in USM.

Well, I don't mind street thug minor, but he also shouldn't be elevated to Green Goblin status.

He neve was as big of a threat as the Goblin, but he was a much bigger threat than he was in USM.

I know. What I mean is Shocker shouldn't be the main threat in a Movie, should he ever appear.

A writer on IGN wrote a nice op-ed on the idea of the reboot/fanboy reactions..he said that fanboys always jump, shout, scream, vow to protest and say how bad something will be from pictures, trailers, costumes, etc but there have been several instances (the three you just mentioned) where they're proven wrong and no one holds them accountable for the bashing they did beforehand..like someone just said, fanboys are ******s lol..too quick to judge and not quick enough to listen, watch and exercise patience to find out how bad or how good something will be.

I believe this is why the studios are starting to back away from promoting at Comic-con

The Shocker isn't a strong enough villain to be featured in a movie where he's the main threat. As a side villain, or maybe somebody assisting the main villain? Sure.

After re-watching teaser again I guess I've figured out that this time the main target group for marketing is obviously stressed to be adolescents from 16 to 25, rather than teenagers from 13 to 18, as was with Raimi's. The last scene was intentionally added to still spark interest among members of younger audience.

I have a feeling Webb is aiming at those, who went to watch The Social Network rather than the audience of Iron Man, for instance.

I think if Shocker ever appears, he could appear first in street clothes (aka USM, but better lol) then be in the classic (movie-renditioned) costume on his second and third outing. He should in no way be a whiny **stard like they made him in USM tho, but he should be mean and hard.

In the 616 universe, Shocker caused blackouts all over NYC in the shape of his name. That's the Shocker I'm interested in, however, if they can make Shocker a minor Villain but make him also really cool, I'll be happy.

But the most important question, should he have a cowboy accent or not? :awesome:

That was simply incredible. Beyond incredible, tbh. Even though he was Montana of The Enforcers, I loved it.
