The Amazing Spider-Man The Official ASM Teaser Trailer Thread! - Part 7

VenomSpawn, in case you didn't see my post because of our fantastic Thread Manager, here it is again:

Basically, the more frames you shoot per second, the more detail is captured in that image, and if it's played back at that same frame-rate, you'll see that captured detail.

The only reason motion pictures are filmed at 24fps is because it's been the fastest, most acceptable looking and economical way to shoot films pretty much since the 1920s. But since film making has been evolving, more-so in the past decade, new techniques in filming are being produced because projectors are getting more and more advanced at projecting film.

48fps is still pretty similar to 24, but since it's shooting more of the image per second, it takes out a very common problem with shooting at 24fps, which is motion blur; the blur you see when the camera moves quickly across the frame. Peter Jackson's whole argument for shooting the Hobbit at 48fps was so we could see more of the action present in his sequences without losing any of it to motion blur and that's something I'm all for. A lot of so called "film experts" will argue that there's nothing wrong with motion blur and that it's quite natural looking, but only because they can't take themselves out of the past. Since projectors are doing such a better job at showing movies, according to Jackson, the filmmakers need to do their best to keep up with them and produce a better image.

If TAS is taking this same approach, I may consider seeing it in 3D. Heck even if they're only doing some of it at 48 I'll consider it. But I still feel like IMAX does a better job at showing me a more detailed image than 3D does. Basically if Hollywood can only produce 2.5D films like pretty much everything save a handful of films these days, then they should just get rid of it and let me enjoy IMAX.

This Thread Manager system is ****ing stupid. It seemed to work better when the threads had no limits. Less confusion.

Anyone interested in the technical aspects of what the the RED EPIC camera is capable of achieving (camera used for ASM and the Hobbit), you should go to the reduser.net forums. Lots of goodies on there if your interested in that kind of stuff.

Dadgum Thread Bot will burn in hell...this I vow.

What exactly is the purpose of the thread manager? The same number of posts end up being made either way, right? Whether it's 2000 in one thread, or 1000 in part one, and 1000 in part two?

"It's technical." ~ Peter Venkman

The intent of that thing is to cut down on the lag, as I understand it. 1000 posts per thread.

For a guy with 0 posts, Thread Manager sure is popping up in a lot of threads. :awesome:

You better quit referring to TM as a "thing" and "it." He's always watching.

Thanks, the RED EPIC camera looks really really good. Can't wait to see it on the big screen.

No, problem, I love that site myself. This camera gives near IMAX quality. I still can't get over how good the skin tones looked in the trailer. My dislike with digital in the past was how cold and washed out the skin tones looked, despite the great detail. This camera is the standard right now for digital tech camera's. James Cameron just ordered a bunch recently.

the trailer did look great. the only problem i will probably always have with the 3D,(as long as they keep using the glasses) is that since the glasses are kind of tinted, the picture doesnt look as bright as it can due to the glasses being dimmed
