I've said it before, but I dig the lighting the film is using. Look at the shot of Spidey with his back turned sitting down. The shadow use looks sleek and crisp.

yep the cinematographer is doing an awesome job. the lighting in the trailer is absolutely jaw dropping (not the POV shot though which is CG).

The suit is awesome, the music (from the site is awesome), the pictures are brilliant, we just need all of this moving, in the duration of 2 minutes or so...It would have been something if the trailer was released next week, then we would have had tdkr, prometheus and ASM all in one week.

I prefer the new suit as well. Always have since I first saw it months ago. Looks stellar in these new images!

While I do believe Raimi's Spidey was a perfect suit from the comics, I will say that this one grabs me much more.

Same here. There's something about this suit that just grabs me.

It seems to have a bit more personality to it, and the aesthetic changes make it feel like a true modern version while still retaining the overall look.

Thinly veiled sarcasm aside, I have to say these new pics are getting me really excited about this movie. The shot of him swinging is AWESOME! Anyone notice the spray painted spider logo on the Daily-Bugle billboard.

general question, do you think it's better to come out before TDKR or after?
this isn't about box office it's more about setting down a marker. like coming out first and saying 'beat that' or coming out second and knowing what you have to top.

First. Absolutely first. If they waited for people to see TDKR, people would automatically compare TASM to TDKR which is a huge disadvantage. No brainer to have it release first.

I guess. at the same time the entire time ASM is playing people will be going on about TDKR coming out a couple of weeks later.

It's better to have people talking about going to see TDKR than it is to have people talking about having seen TDKR.

Think of it this way, with TASM coming out first, they don't lost any potential viewers. If TDKR came out first people would be saying, "Well nothing is going to top that. No point in seeing Spider-Man anymore."

I don't know if I just want a new trailer soon and biased, but I think this is the sense. I hope Sony realizes who they are running with.

Elijah, we're talking about the actual movies, not marketing/promotional materials. In terms of trailers/posters etc. I think it wise for TASM to make the second move. Watching a trailer doesn't cost money (unless you go see it in a theater).

ASM will be the X:FC of 2012. low expectations but ends up blowing people away.
