This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]374825[/split]
He's a VFX goldmine, his character was practically made for film, I'd love to see what they could do with Mysterio as the villain in the sequel
I second this.Mysterio's definitely a top villain choice that hasn't been done yet, there are many great ways he could be done on film.

I cant really put my finger on it, but I really dont want Mysterio in a Spidey movie. Like, at all. Id almost rather have The Spot than Mysterio.
Not that this is a reason for me personally (I don't care how much cgi a movie has, so long as it's good), but with all the people moaning about over-reliance on CGI, using someone like Mysterio is just asking for trouble.
Mystery would be one of my top choices for villains. I just think his back story would translate well with Marc's love of characters and their development. Plus, I like the spot tooWith Mysterio and his 'magic' it would be almost necessary to have CGI. I am sure with anything they could still do practical applications but it's all about money and time and which is more important.
They are using mainly a practical approach for Spidey but there will still be a need for CGI because of safety for the stunt guys or whatever. You can't escape the CGI but with a good team of practical effects techs you can accomplish a world of stuff.
Plus, with Mysterio it would be easy to work in multiple villains, have them all connected somehow and make a cool story out of it. I do like The Spot though.

Does anyone else think Emma Stone looks like a cartoon? Almost not bangable.
Just like how they can't have webswinging without CGI? Nothing *has* to be CGI, its just more convenient to use it. You sound like your worried that if they put Mysterio in the sequel it will turn into Transformers or something. No, no, no, no, no. They could use some CGI, but chances are, if they go that route they'd be using more practical methods. This doesn't strike me as the kind of movie that takes Visual Effects over Special Effects. It seems they want it very grounded, and what better way to have a grounded but visually appealing movie than to use illusions! Illusions, Michael, illusions!

Mysterio has the potential to be as enigmatic as the joker.
He can sweep into the city and claim he can get rid of Spidey (all the while committing the crimes and framing Spidey).
Some people it would be cg heavy but it does have to be, for instance Spidey could make a move towards mysterio and then in a flash of light find himself 10,000 feet in the air or worse 6 feet under ground. Pretty scary and no cg required.
Agreed.
you hae the potential for mysterio to mimic any location, any time period, any person. the possibilities are limitless and the great thing is if webb is going for a more realistic and modern take on spidey, mysterio achieves all these effects not with magic or powers but illusions and smoke and mirror.
mysterio has the potential to establish himself as spidey's greatest villian.
I get what he means, though. Shes got a wide, short, face with big eyes. Im not saying shes unattractive but I personally find the blonde hair suits her face a HECK of a lot better than red, which is weird, cuz I love me a red head.
He could kill Spidey easily if he wanted too. Make Spidey think he's falling from thousands of feet up and he would die from the ensuing heart attack.

I'd like to see Mysterio appear in a film too. I get the desire to see Goblin and such again, but seeing a brand new villain ala The Lizard in TASM would be pretty exciting.I can’t really put my finger on it, but I really don’t want Mysterio in a Spidey movie.
