He really does look good with the glasses and 'stache. Can't wait until we get closer to that point in time.

Could just be a hiatus beard, but my bet is Gordon sports a beard for the majority of the season and then, by series end, there will be a jump to Bruce being the fully-formed adult Batman, and McKenzie will have shaved things down to just a mustache.

That way he doesn't have to put up with it for long, because let's be honest, few men can really pull off the solo mustache.
