I still think a lot of the problems with Ultron would have been solved if they didn't insist on giving him facial expressions. When Ultron first shows up in that Stark drone he's legitimately creepy. Once he gets eyeballs and a mouth everything that was unsettling about him is gone.

A great performance can be conveyed by voice and and body movements alone.

Look at Scarlett Johansson as Samantha in "Her" or Bill Irwin as TARS in "Interstellar". There's also classic performances like Anthony Daniels as C-3PO and Douglas Rain as HAL 9000.

All of those actors turned in good to great performances while playing characters that couldn't make facial expressions or move their lips. In the cast of Samantha from "Her" she doesn't even have a body.

Which makes me wonder if Zemo will have his mask at all during the movie.

Vision,everyone is entitled to their own opinion,and Ultron as depicted in the movie is very divisive,many would have preferred something more similar to the comics and that's perfectly fine. No need to convince other people on what's ultimately an opinion.

We'll get some form of the mask because it's a unique and marketable look for the character, but it might not be a close adaptation.

Ultron was a fatalist and he could replicate himself. That's the core of what makes the character a fitting opponent for the Avengers. That's what we got in AoU, so I was fine with the tweaks.

I think making opinions or views on movies a personal issue isnt very good. I gave my reasons and others did too on why we enjoyed Joss' version of Ultron/how it made sense in the story. If people disagree or dont like that, sall good. No need to call people names and accuse them of being defensive fanboys etc.

I think its about your immediate reaction to the character. For me I just saw Ultron as evolving over the course of the movie. His features and quippy nature (which obviously came from Tony) reflected him wanting to express his emotions to be like us. He was definitely a "walking contradiction", an AI that both admired and was repulsed by humans and their flaws. His goal wasnt just to wipe out humanity, I think he wanted to create a new race of beings like himself. A perfect society. The drones were just the beginning.

So, our explanation about him being more than a cold, emotionless kill bot makes total sense and really adds more to the movie because of that fact. He actually had feelings and weird tics, as opposed to just being a robotic Terminator. That was never gonna happen anyway with the way he was created and Joss' personality as a writer.

The Terminator was a cyborg (a killer robot w/ one specific function covered in skin). ULTRON is not a cyborg. Hes an artificial intelligence inside a metal structure that looks like a robot. Thats why he made features and isnt a dull bot. Theres a difference chief. Do I have to teach a class on this? I really dont want to.
